BONNIE VOYAGE Dolce

After three years of tracking celebs' roller-coaster weight issues, Joe Dolce is leaving Star magazine. He's being replaced by former Globe EIC Candace Trunzo on April 1. She'll report to Bonnie Fuller.

In an e-mail to American Media employees, chief David Pecker writes:

I want to thank Joe for all his efforts and contributions towards Star's successful transition from tabloid to glossy magazine over the past three years.... Candace has a long record of accomplishments across AMI. Thirteen years prior, (1994) she joined the company as a features editor for Globe magazine.

In 1999, she joined Star serving as executive editor, then as editor-in-chief of Star, and then editor-in-chief of Globe, where she and her editorial team broke a number of major celebrity stories. Candace now returns to Star after a year with the National Enquirer, where she played a key role in the magazine's newsgathering division as the senior executive editor. Prior to 1994, she worked for Time Inc. as a reporter for Time magazine then as writer/editor for Money magazine.... Please join me in congratulating Candace on her new role at Star.

UPDATE: In a press release, Fuller says: "The magazine has momentum, and Candace's experience and vision will help take it to the next level.... She will undoubtedly be a huge asset to Star, and an innovative role model for the team. I look forward to working with her." Nope, nothing about Joe ...
