Let The Bitchy Game of Musical Chairs Begin!

Ahhhh, Fashion Week. Last night the festivities kicked off as designers Jack and Lazaro presented their Proenza Schouler for Target collection at downtown boutique Opening Ceremony, where Jack White baby mama Karen Elson and MTV News talking head Suchin Pak trawled for cheap silk dresses without the annoyance of Target's extreme overhead lighting or bulk diaper-buying clientele.

The crowd then moved on to the Miss Sixty show at 7 World Trade Center, where the rockstocracy (Rolling Stone spawn Alexandra Richards) met the rock stars (Pink). Backstage, the photogs thronged starlet Camilla Belle and Adrien Brody before glomming onto rapper Eve and writer-model hybrid Sophie Dahl, while the models took in the 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline and got high (on Tab Energy, that is).

But the clear highlight of the show—inspired by the "tough-chic look of the 1920s gangster world"—was the inevitable seating drama.

A few arched eyebrows shot up as fashion writer Derek Blasberg was ousted from the front row so Eve could have the prime seat. The enscarfled Blasberg had sidled into the event on the heels of Richards and Margarita Missoni, landing a choice seat next to the Manhattan nepotistas. But his seat swiping caught up with him as the lights dimmed and Eve was ushered into place. Fortunately for the ruffled Blasberg, a publicist intervened, pulling up a chair for him across the runway, ensuring him an unencumbered view of model Jessica Stam in all her denim glory. But the musical chairs begged the question: if the Stam rocks black leather cuffed booties and Blasberg isn't there to record it, did it really ever happen?
