< BACK TO Fresh Intelligence Jim Carrey, Obsessive-Compulsive Life Coach![]() CARREYING ON Jim "[It's] just my thoughts about different things, you know. It will be very revealing about what I believe," he tells reporter Guilianna DePandi, according to an E! press release. "The idea of that is accurate, that most things we get upset about in life can be avoided if we just went in ready to be okay when things happen. 'Okay, I'm getting in the car right now so chances are I could hit some traffic. Be ready to be okay with that. Deal with it.'" Carrey's Zen acceptance of all that life sends his way is curiously at odds with the obsessive, difficult behavior detailed in an upcoming Radar magazine feature (on sale Feb. 13), which details his recent troubles with Hollywood studios. (Last summer a string of his movies were shelved.) Reports of his on-set tantrums and quirky behavior have long been circulaiting through the industry, and rose to a fever pitch during production of his latest film, 23, when Carrey, caught up in his role, suddenly unzipped his fly and began urinating against a wall on camera—a flourish not called for in the script. It's all a bit reminiscent of another control-freak megastar who can't resist telling others how to conduct their lives. Could Carrey be absorbing Tom Cruise's personality along with his strange religion? Advertisement |
