< BACK TO Fresh Intelligence Angelina's Children's Charity Still MIA![]() EXHAUSTED EFFORTS Brange In September 2005, luxury apparel maker St. John hired Jolie as its new spokesmodel. As part of the arrangement, the company agreed to create a foundation benefiting children's causes, which Jolie was to oversee. Though no timetable was set, a St. John spokeswoman assured Radar in September that an announcement about the fund's structure and beneficiaries would be announced "definitely before the end of the year." Last week, however, that same spokeswoman said, "The charity hasn't been formed yet at all." After promising to look into the matter, she never called back. Nor did Jolie's manager, Geyer Kosinski. Of course, Jolie has had a busy year and a half, starring in The Good Shepherd and the upcoming A Mighty Heart, about murdered journalist Daniel Pearl, along with giving birth to Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, her daughter with pseudo-husband, Brad Pitt. Maybe she needs a little prodding to remind her of her commitments? After all, it worked last time. PREVIOUSLY Photo: Splash News & Picture Agency

Jennifer Aniston??? It sound just like JA to do this kind of crap. Posted by: LaLa on February 9, 2007 8:09 PM Radar, I see you STILL haven't taken responsibility for your shoddy reporting. In 2006 you reported the DRC School in Namibia never received monies promised to it by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie after the birth of their daughter Shiloh. The fact is money was NOT promised to the DRC School. Money was promised to and RECEIVED by the DRC School Project and Community Center based in Namibia. Just to reiterate because you obviously have trouble with your comprehension and investigative skills, the DRC School and the DRC School Project and Community Center are two SEPARATE and INDEPENDENT organizations. If bloggers and fans can contact the appropriate individuals based in Namibia to find out the facts, then I ask why can't you? So please shove your final comment "Maybe she needs a little prodding to remind her of her commitments? After all, it worked last time" where the sun doesn't shine. Posted by: dragonflyinamber on February 9, 2007 8:28 PM Dragonflyinamber, I totally agree. First though, I would like to write on a more positive note. The Maddox Jolie Pitt Project is funding at least one if not more, millenium villages which would, I hope improve thousands of lives. The JOlie Pitts also fund a Cambodian orphanage for aids orphans who are alive and with a fighting chance of remaining alive long enough for some new medicines to be brought to market to cure the disease. In any case, for the moment for these hundreds of children, the awful moment when their immune systems fail and they are subject to painful infections has at least been defered with the hope they may actually receive a cure one day as medical science progresses. There is also the Harnas Wildlife Trust which is supported by the Jolie Pitts which is attempting to save the wild life in Namibia. and of course global green. These are just part of the wider humanitarian and charitable interests which Brad and Angelina support, with money or with time and money. Now to deal with the negative. In a previous report, Radar alleged that Angelina and Brad hadn't paid on their pledged donations in Namibia. In fact, they had not only made good on their promised donation to DRC School but also to the maternity ward. This information was confirmed by the Sydney Morning Herald which had taken reports from tabloids and printed the rubbish. I had written to SMH to complain about this inaccuracy. SMH then checked on the donations, both to DRC and to the maternity ward and published a correction. As SMH is a reputable paper in Australia, I certainly hope they have learnt their lesson and not publish unverified reports from gossip websites. The only reason why I'm here is to refute this report because I think it is important that anyone's charitable work not be denigrated. God knows, there's a lot of uncharitable people who whine about why Brad and angleina aren't helping americans (as if NO doesn't count as part of America - or perhaps, given the Bush's shameful response to katrina, it isn't part of America). There are also alot of miserable people who will film, sell, buy, view videos of a celebrity dying or dead and being resuscitated by CPR. You gossip columnist are the dregs of this world and no, I don't visit often. Only to clarify the issue of charitable donations because real people, real beneficiaries may be affected. No one actually knows how much Brad and Angelina received for Shiloh's photos. The sum of 4.1 million has been DENIED by people magazine. Therefore, it is not clear at all what has been given. The establishment of a charitiable trust in America is subject to many strict guidelines. I won't print the links but you can get a lot of information if you google charitable trusts usa tax law regulations. A high profile charitable trust would be closely monitored and audited by the US IRS - surely a fearsome administrative beast. St John is the entity that is responsible for setting up the trust which Ms Jolie was to help in. the responsibility lies with ms jolie. Please don't make it seem like it was Angelina's fault that the fund hasn't been set up. Insofar as her own charitable trusts are concerned, which are under her and Brad's control, they are up and running. Mind you, St John has been having some operational and directional problems, which no doubt you would like to lay on Angelina's door. Though how Angelina can be responsible for the fact that st John appears to have lost its direction and is unable to execute good designs and clothing for its customers is beyond me.
