BERT ALERT Fields
Wednesday's New York Times story on the Anthony Pellicano saga said federal prosecutors called ten members of Bert Fields's law firm before a federal grand jury in a "last-ditch" effort to definitively link the Hollywood superlawyer to the illegal wiretapping activities of his favorite imprisoned P.I.
(Despite the predictable spin of Fields's pro-bono publicist, most observers assume this does not mean his troubles are "done and over.")
According to multiple sources, the distinguished list of partners and associates includes: Chuck Shepherd, Steven Lurie, Andrew Fischel, Bonnie Eskenazi, Jeff Spitz and Ricardo Cestero, who, prior to going legit, worked for Pellicano.
There is also David Moriarty, a young attorney who remains on an unexplained, extended leave of absence from the firm.
