Jessica Simpson has a new publicist to eventually part ways with. A month after dropping truth-allergic mouthpiece Rob Shuter (and groveling for forgiveness from various tabloid editors) the Employee of the Month star has signed on with Cindi Berger of PMK/HBH.

Berger's client roster sheds light on the singer's newfound ambition to rebrand herself as a grown-up star known for more than her double-D's: She reps such heavyweights as Barbara Walters, Rosie O'Donnell, Bette Midler and Laura Linney. It remains to be seen, however, whether Simpson (and, more to the point, her always on-the-make father) can abstain from the antics that caused Brad Cafarelli to cut her loose last November.
