Paramount Lot Looking Awfully Empty

paramount.jpg
As if Brad Grey didn't have enough to worry about. Now the Paramount chief has to do the real estate hustle. Grey—whose future has been the subject of much speculation following the firing of his boss, Viacom CEO Tom Freston, earlier this month—has quite a bit of extra office space on his hands as a result of the Viacom-CBS divorce.

CBS has moved all 110 employees of CBS Paramount Network Television off the Paramount lot and into the CBS Studio Center on Radford Avenue as part of a plan to consolidate network employees in one place by next summer. Production of The CW series Girlfriends also moved to Radford Ave. from the Paramount lot earlier several months ago, according to a spokesman, although other CBS-produced shows, including Everybody Hates Chris, Entertainment Tonight, and The Insider, continue to film there.

While the spokesman downplayed the relocations, a source on the lot says, somewhat dramatically, "It's not a ghost town yet, but unless they rent some of those offices and start to use the sound studios, it's not hard to envision tumbleweeds and coyotes moving in."
