Selena Gomez led Friday night's Disney Channel special, Wizards of Waverly The Movie, to the highest ratings of any cable TV show in 2009. Take that Jon & Kate Plus 8!
A favorite of the tween set, Wizards is a comedy about three siblings with magical powers. It premiered in 2007 and its growing popularity motivated the folks at Disney to shoot the dice with an expanded movie. It paid off big. WW The Movie pulled in an astounding 11.4 million viewers, topping the Jon & Kate "We're getting divorced" episode on TLC by more than a million.
Selena, 17, will next be appearing at the D23 Expo -- a Disney fan "experience" Sept. 13 at Disneyland in Anaheim, CA.

Selena Gomez plays a wizard on her hit show Wizards of Waverly Place but the teen queen is now also casting a spell with her powerful voice. RadarOnline.com has the exclusive photos from her recent video shoot for the song "Oh, oh, oh...it's Magic."

“She flew in that morning, arrived at 7:00 am for hair and make-up, shot all day till 6:00 p.m and was great and professional with everyone,” a source told RadarOnline.com about the June 20 shoot.
Gomez will also be taking her wizards act to the big screen in August when the Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie hits the cineplex.
