Phillip Phillips endured more than just the stress of making the next round every week to become the winner of American Idol, his parents exclusively tell RadarOnline.com the pain caused by his kidney stones was almost unbearable.

"He’s doing good right now, but it’s been a long hard struggle for him," his father Phillip Phillips Sr. said on Wednesday night following his victory.

An 81-year-old Rhode Island resident is the winner of a $336.4 million Powerball lottery.

Louise White, of Newport, bought her winning ticket from Stop & Shop and it's the largest jackpot ever won in the small state and the third largest in the history of all Powerball lotteries.

Melanie Amaro was crowned the winner on Thursday night's finale of The X Factor, netting the show's grand prize of $5 million plus a spot in a Pepsi ad, and RadarOnline.com has video of the songbird's emotional win.

After host Steve Jones announced her as the winner of the show's first season in the states, the 19-year-old Florida native, who was born in the British Virgin Islands, could barely get any words out uttering, "Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God."

Her coach Simon Cowell wasn’t at a loss for words however, telling the crowd, "I want to say, 'America, thank you for giving this girl an opportunity.'"

Scotty McCreery did more than just win the American Idol title on Wednesday. The teenager is also guaranteed at least $250,000 in cash!

Because he's a minor, the AI producers had to have a judge -- we're not talking Randy or J.Lo. here -- sign off on McCreery's contract, which also made it a publicly accessible document.

Here's what RadarOnline.com found. The 17-year-old from North Carolina gets $250,000 for winning the show and as advance against his first album.  There could be tens of thousands more in back end money if the album is a hit.

McCreery also gets a cut of the action from licensing his likeness for merchandise and endorsement deals.  Based on what the last few winners have pocketed from this, he can expect to take in at least another $100,000.

Scotty and all the Idol finalists also each get $1,000 a show for the American Idol Tour that begins July 6 in Salt Lake City.  There are 47 dates currently on the calendar.

Bottom line, the very likable Scotty could end up taking in close to half a million dollars in the next year.

American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino has been hospitalized after suffering an overdose.

According to local North Carolina news station Newschannel 36, the season three Idol winner was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville at 8:55 p.m. Monday night for a “medication overdose.”

According to their report, Barrino’s condition was not life threatening. The station’s sources did not know whether the overdose was intentional or what type of medication was involved.  Kevin McCarthy, a spokesperson for the hospital, told RadarOnline.com that “there is nobody by that name” in their directory and would neither confirm nor deny that the Idol star was being treated there.

Reports that Barrino had been having an affair with a married man surfaced on Wednesday after a complaint was filed by Paula Cook accusing the American Idol winner of sleeping with her husband and recording their illicit sexual activity.
