EXCLUSIVE: D.C. Housewife Mary Schmidt Amons Says The Salahis 'Stoop To The Lowest Of Lows'

Posted on Sep 02, 2010 @ 01:10PM - 10 comments

Tensions, tears — and Tareq — will dominate next Thursday’s episode of the hit Bravo reality show Real Housewives of D.C.

In a teaser of episode five, the popular and classy cast-mate Mary Schmidt Amons breaks down in tears while at dinner at Tareq and Michaele Salahi’s now defunct winery in Virginia.

Now RadarOnline.com can reveal the source of the high drama and why it has driven a major divide between the women of the series and the notorious White House ‘gatecrashers’.

In the episode to air Thursday, Tareq accuses one of Mary’s daughters of being linked to the theft of his personal belongings — polo gear — a claim the Washingtonian woman emphatically denies.

“It was very upsetting and disturbing to have your daughter falsely accused of something,” Mary told RadarOnline.com, in an exclusive interview.

“What was so upsetting, they actually don’t accuse her any crime, but being friends with someone who wronged them. She made a Facebook comment about whatever happened — it was a benign comment, which you will see.

“But it triggered a stomach-turning gut reaction because, in my opinion, this is stooping to the lowest of lows.

“I don’t care if it was true or not, but the fact that these people decided to bring something up that ‘apparently’ occurred years ago and to link to my daughter, I think was unfair.

“To put this on national television speaks to their character.”

While the Salahis seem to feed off of their infamy, their behavior has ostracized Mary and their co-stars Lynda Erkiletian, Catherine Ommanney and Stacie Scott Turner.

EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: At Home With The Salahis

“I am still very close friends with Cat, Lynda and Stacie; we have developed quite the little bond,” Mary dished to RadarOnline.com.

“Going through what we have this last year will either bring you together or drive you apart.”

Asked if she still hangs out with the Salahis, Mary laughed, "No."

The granddaughter of radio and TV personality Arthur Godfrey, Mary’s life has taken a “drastic turn” after the high-rating series Bravo premiered four weeks ago.

“My entire family is involved in the show, so we are trying to navigate how to handle being recognized in public,” she said.

“But it has been great for our family, a positive thing, it has brought us closer together.

“Overall, I think we look great as a family. We are very relatable and I am very proud of my family.”

Before she was one of five Housewives, Mary was one of five founders of the District Sample Sale, an event that is billed as Washington’s most fashionable charitable event which has donated almost a quarter-of-a-million dollars to charity.

This year’s event — on Thursday, September 16 in Georgetown -- will ride high off the back of Mary’s popularity and will be attended by all Housewives, except Michaele!

“I decided to do the show for a very positive reason,” Mary told RadarOnline.com.

“I primarily did this to get my charity projects out into the public domain, to raise more money and awareness for women and children’s organizations.

“I can’t judge why other people have done this show, everyone has their own purpose, but in our case, it has been for the most positive reason.”

And despite all the drama, she says she would do it all again. “I will come back if we’re asked,” she said.

White House party crashers Tareq and Michaele Salahi were hauled into court Friday over an unpaid $925 bill to A1A Home Improvement and Lawn Care service, the company in charge of their lawn maintenance.

The couple faced legal interviews concerning their failure to pay for the services, resulting in the plaintiff's attorney Daniel J. Pond suggesting seizure of personal property to satisfy the debts.

Pond requested that the Warren County (VA) District judge seize Tareq Salahi's $325,000 Patek, Phillipe Geneve watch for resale. Because the watch is significantly more expensive that the amount owed, the remaining money will be returned to the Salahis once the debt is paid in full.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: White House Crasher Tareq Salahi Trashes His Mother!

Posted on Nov 30, 2009 @ 07:28PM - 2 comments

While attempting to make his wife the break-out star of the upcoming The Real Housewives of D.C.," White House gate crasher Tareq Salahi did a taped interview with Dan McDermott, editor/publisher of the local Warren County Report.

In the interview, obtained exclusively by RadarOnline.com, Tareq made the claim that his mother "has been very jealous of Michaele," even locking her in a room at Virginia's Oasis Winery while they were trying to tape a segment for Real Housewives.

"There is something between her and Michaele that my mom wants to disrupt," Tareq said.  "Whether it be locking the gate, moving stuff around or stealing her dresses.  She actually locked my wife in this room, dead-bolted her in for three hours."

White House Crash Couple Involved In Lawsuits & Bankruptcy

What Salahi failed to mention is that Oasis Winery no longer belongs to him.  It had been owned by his parents, but in a battle of competing lawsuits with his elderly mother, Tareq gained control of the Virginia facility in 2007.

He then destroyed it financially buying, among other things, an Aston Martin and a boat with winery funds.  They've both since been repossessed and the winery went into bankruptcy.  The bankruptcy court later sold it to the highest bidder to help pay off other debts.

That didn't stop Tareq from allowing a crew from Real Housewives to shoot at the winery on November 9.  Mom Corinne was also there and apparently had a meltdown!  Corinne Salahi claimed her son and daughter-in-law had no right to be on the property.  She even called in the local Sheriff's Department!

"You can't make this stuff up that happens here at Oasis," Salahi said. "No one would believe it."

EXCLUSIVE PHOTO: White House Crasher Wife Posing As Redskins Cheerleader

DNP Random Things

White House party-crasher Michaele Salahi has proven herself to be a master of disguise, adding credentials as a former Washington Redskins cheerleader to her past, but President of the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders Alumni Association, Terri Crane-Lamb, tells RadarOnline.com that they have no record of Michaele ever cheering with their organization.  “She came to us five years ago and claimed she was a Redskins cheerleader,” Terri explains.  “She said she was a cheerleader in the mid-80’s but wasn’t on for a full season.  In the 80’s we used paper rosters, so that might explain why we have no record of her.”

Terri says Michaele and her husband Tareq attended various Redskin alumni cheerleading events and describes them as “having a certain way with people”, being “well-connected and believable” and being good at “acting like they fit in”.  Eventually questions were raised about Michaele’s experience with the Redskins cheerleading program.  “During a halftime show she wasn’t a very good dancer and that raised some red flags that led some of the alumni to question her claim,” Terri said.

Michaele claims she has proof that she was a Redskins cheerleader and Terri says she’s still waiting to receive it before releasing Salahi from the organization.
