We feel your pain.  At least the Best Supporting Actor and Best Actor Nominees get a fabulous gift basket, as do the male hosts of TV Magazine shows like ET and Access Hollywood.

Academy Awards Offer Plenty Of Man Candy:

The Oscar gift basket contains some pricey items too, like The Dalmore 1263 King Alexander III single malt scotch from Richard Paterson, Master Distiller of the Dalmore ($250! ) along with The Patargas Master Series Majestuos Cigars and hundreds of dollars of men's skincare products from Mario Badescu.

We're just saying it's a great consolation prize!

So how do the  best supporting and best actor nominees savor their silver screen moments with their buddies the week before the big awards shows? With Buds and potato chips? No chance. If they’re fans of single malts they treat themselves to a bottle of Dalmore , which comes in 12 year  ($30),  40 year ($2,499.99) , 50 year ($9,782.61) and the  1263 King Alexander III Whisky, which is a limited edition bottling and almost impossible to find.

With such a beautiful bottle of single malt whiskey – which were gifted to all the lucky best supporting and best actor nominees--  we wanted some tips on how to drink it so went to the expert, The Dalmore's www.thedalmore.com third generation master blender , Richard Paterson. Paterson is recognized as one of the foremost authorities in the single malt world and has been recognized for his intricate and complex blends.

Take the liquid and hold it up to your nose when it is full strength. Don't be afraid to nose it more than once - you will find that each time your nose it, you discover more aromas and nuances.  Get to know the liquid.

Now pour some room temperature water into your glass to take the alcohol level down a bit. This will allow you to sip it without the burn associated with pure spirits.

Take a sip, swirl, hold the liquid on top of your tongue, under your tongue, hold your breath. Now swallow! Now breathe.

Remember to focus on the whisky and enjoy the art of the blend.
