Not since Oprah Winfrey shed her jacket to show off massive weight loss 20 years ago has a television personalities' weight loss demonstration been so highly anticipated.
The View's Sherri Shepherd, 42, has been putting in the time -- including heavy dieting, workouts and even a painful bikini wax -- to complete the "Bathing Suit Challenge" (a promise she made in May to viewers she would to trim down to a summer body). Or, more aptly said by ABC the TV personality worked "with trainers, nutritionists, stylists, butchers, bakers and candlestick makers in order to work herself in to bathing suit shape."
And Thursday, we got to see the payoff: the pretty Shepherd (now a size 6) trotted out in a one-piece pink and black swimsuit, eliciting roars of approval from her onscreen colleagues and studio audience. Though no one will compare her to say, Mel B, Shepherd said she was satisfied with her modest progress.

We know Christian Bale is devoted when it comes to his craft: the cult hero actor has spurned big paydays for indie flicks, went off on a on a tirade on a production worker who crossed his line of sight on the set of Terminator Salvation and became scarey slim for his work in 2004's The Machinist.
Seems like he's at it again -- the dramatic weight loss, at least.

The Style Network's biggest star -- and we mean that literally -- Ruby Gettinger is staging get-fit walks from coast to coast, all to promote the second season of her hit reality series.
On July 11, the Savannah resident was in Santa Monica, CA where she was joined by hundreds of fans for a meet-and-greet and walk around the city's famed pier.
Ruby weighed in at 500 lbs. when she began the show. She's now down to 400.

So who is she, you might ask? Cox is a co-inventor of LighterLife, a popular, controversial diet plan critics have said has serious health consequences and falsely advertises long-term results to those who use it.
We'll hold our tongues with the usual ironic snark, ending on this thought: at least (Hair Club for men president) Cy Sperling was a member.

Actress Kirstie Alley, who said she plans on losing the 75 pounds she regained in the past two years, tells Oprah Winfrey on Thursday's show that she's going to be in a bikini again.
