Warrant Singer Jani Lane's Family Being Kept In Dark About His Death

It has been almost two weeks since Warrant singer Jani Lane's body was mysteriously found in a Los Angeles hotel room and his family members are upset about how his death is being handled by those closest to him.

In an exclusive interview with RadarOnline.com, Lane's sister Vicky Oswald-Ley revealed her heartbreak over having to find out details of her brother's death from the Internet instead of from his third wife (Kimberly Nash) and his longtime manager.

"I am just so angry right now," Oswald-Ley told RadarOnline.com. "It's just very sad. I don't even have Kimberly's number but I know she has mine and she hasn't called."

RadarOnline.com has obtained the call made to 911 after the body of Warrant’s former lead singer Jani Lane was discovered at a San Fernando valley motel on August 11.

RadarOnline.com has obtained the call made to 911 after the body of Warrant’s former lead singer Jani Lane was discovered at a San Fernando valley motel on August 11.

The caller calmly tells the 911 dispatcher that she works at the front desk of the motel and that the housekeepers had repeatedly knocked on the door of Lane’s  room, but that no one answered. The caller said one of the housekeepers went in and thought he was dead. The 911 dispatcher asked her to ask the housekeepers to go back into the room and make sure the person was dead.  He said, in the meantime, they would dispatch an ambulance to the motel.

Lane, 47, was carrying no official ID on him when he was found. However, alcohol and pills were found by his body, according to authorities.

"Alcoholism is not something he chose," Lane's older sister, Vicky Oswald-Ley told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview. "It’s something he fought everyday and it just won."

Lane was found dead at 47 in a Woodland Hills, Calif. Comfort Inn on Thursday at around 5.30 p.m., although the cause of death has not yet been determined, Vicky is convinced that drink, not drugs, was the reason.

“We are deeply saddened to hear the news of Jani's passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Jani was a very important part of our lives for a long time. We will always be incredibly proud of the music we created together. He was a true talent and will be missed by all of us.”

The band also posted an old performance video of Lane in tribute to him.

Quaid made the extraordinary comment as he entered his immigration and refugee board hearing in Vancouver, where the couple was picked up last month on an outstanding warrant in the United States.

Randy and Evi Quaid were a "no show" at a Santa Barbara courthouse once again Tuesday and have forfeited another $1 million in bail.

Warrants for the arrest of the actor and his wife remain in effect as the couple failed to appear before Judge Donna Geck in connection with vandalism charges at a guest house of a Montecito home they once owned.

Randy and Evi Quaid have been arrested and detained in Canada and RadarOnline.com has learned that a Santa Barbara court, where the couple failed to show up for a hearing regarding various charges, has increased their bail at $500,000 at the request of the Santa Barbara district attorney’s office.

The request was brought forth Friday morning.

“The Santa Barbara district attorney requested an increase in their bail regarding the bench warrant from $50,000.00 to $500,000.00 to assure that the couple will appear in court,” a spokesperson for the Santa Barbara District Attorney’s Office told RadarOnline.com exclusively.

As RadarOnline.com  reported, the Quaids skipped out on a court-ordered hearing in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Monday relating to felony burglary charges and misdemeanor counts for allegedly moving back into and vandalizing a home they once owned.
