With all the attention Anna Wintour has been grabbing for her documentary The September Issue, we've lost sight of another fashion magazine villain--the delicious Wilhelmina Slater, Ugly Betty's ruthless editirix played by Vanessa Williams.
RadarOnline.com caught up with the beauty queen turned actress, where she discussed the difference her personal and professional style.
"I’m way more concerned about comfort," Vanessa said of her daily life, "Do the shoes feel comfortable? Can I move in the dress? Can I breathe?"
Slater's look typifies the pain-is-beauty complex, says Williams.
"When I wear little Wilhelmina stuff it’s definitely putting on the Spanx and sucking in my stomach and hoping it lasts through the day. Her silhouette is a lot more severe and structured."

Williams says her go-to designers for the red carpet are Carmen Marc Valvo, a New York-based designer and personal friend of Williams for 20 years, and the trusty fit of Ralph Lauren Purple Label.
"It’s a no-brainer. I know that Purple Label pants in a size four fits me no question," said Williams.
Ugly Betty premieres Friday, October 16 at 8 p.m. on ABC!

Vanessa Williams is one actress who isn’t ashamed to admit she’s tried Botox.
“Yeah, I’ve tried it,” She told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview. “Three years ago when I did the first season of Ugly Betty, my character in the first episode got Botox by her assistant in her office! I’ve been asked if I’ve ever tried it before and I was very candid and honest, and I said, ‘sure.’”
Williams, 46, has teamed up with the makers of Botox Cosmetic, who are donating $250,000 to the campaign Dress For Success.
As part of the $250,000 donation to Dress for Success, Allergan, the maker of BOTOX® Cosmetic is donating $2 to the organization on behalf of each of the first 25,000 people who visit and register on the campaign Web site, www.ExpressSuccessCampaign.com. When pledging support on the Web site, people also can enter to win a trip for two to New York City to have lunch with Vanessa Williams, read Vanessa’s personal blog as well as get interview and workplace tips.

An auction has mounted on eBay.com touting the original photo negatives to the nude shots that cost Vanessa Williams her Miss America crown in 1984.
RadarOnline.com unearthed the auction on Saturday, with a termination date of September 1.
Starting bid for the alleged original shots stands at $200,000.
The first African-American woman ever given the title, Williams was dethroned ten months into her reign when Penthouse magazine publisher Bob Guccione paid photographer Tom Chiapel for the rights to the naked photographs.
Williams was an employee of Chiapel, a New York photographer who convinced the beauty to pose nude two years prior to her entry into Miss America.
Williams claimed the photos were personal and was under the assumption they had been destroyed, also sayING she'd never given consent for their sale. The auction items include all 156 negatives of the photos, and an alleged signed release form.
Williams was permitted to keep her tiara and scholarship money from the competition, though her hand was forced to resign. She's gone on to have great success in film, theater, music and television.
She currently stars in ABC's Ugly Betty.
