With all the attention Anna Wintour has been grabbing for her documentary The September Issue, we've lost sight of another fashion magazine villain--the delicious Wilhelmina Slater, Ugly Betty's ruthless editirix played by Vanessa Williams.
RadarOnline.com caught up with the beauty queen turned actress, where she discussed the difference her personal and professional style.
"I’m way more concerned about comfort," Vanessa said of her daily life, "Do the shoes feel comfortable? Can I move in the dress? Can I breathe?"
Slater's look typifies the pain-is-beauty complex, says Williams.
"When I wear little Wilhelmina stuff it’s definitely putting on the Spanx and sucking in my stomach and hoping it lasts through the day. Her silhouette is a lot more severe and structured."

Williams says her go-to designers for the red carpet are Carmen Marc Valvo, a New York-based designer and personal friend of Williams for 20 years, and the trusty fit of Ralph Lauren Purple Label.
"It’s a no-brainer. I know that Purple Label pants in a size four fits me no question," said Williams.
Ugly Betty premieres Friday, October 16 at 8 p.m. on ABC!

Vanessa Williams is one actress who isn’t ashamed to admit she’s tried Botox.
“Yeah, I’ve tried it,” She told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview. “Three years ago when I did the first season of Ugly Betty, my character in the first episode got Botox by her assistant in her office! I’ve been asked if I’ve ever tried it before and I was very candid and honest, and I said, ‘sure.’”
Williams, 46, has teamed up with the makers of Botox Cosmetic, who are donating $250,000 to the campaign Dress For Success.
As part of the $250,000 donation to Dress for Success, Allergan, the maker of BOTOX® Cosmetic is donating $2 to the organization on behalf of each of the first 25,000 people who visit and register on the campaign Web site, www.ExpressSuccessCampaign.com. When pledging support on the Web site, people also can enter to win a trip for two to New York City to have lunch with Vanessa Williams, read Vanessa’s personal blog as well as get interview and workplace tips.

Even in this awful economic times, ex-American Idol judge Paula Abdul appears to be having no trouble finding work.
Reports have placed the entertainer negotiating to work on ABC's Ugly Betty, playing a friend of the catty receptionist, Amanda (Becki Newton). Abdul has some sitcom experience on her resume, having previously made cameos on programs including Less Than Perfect, That's So Raven and The Wayans Bros.

Primetime's getting a little less Ugly this year--American Ferrera's beloved shchlep Betty Suarez on ABCs Ugly Betty is getting a makeover.
Photos surfaced today of Ferrera on set looking dramatically improved from her normal Betty gear--braces, bushy eyebrows, loud mismatching frocks and a mop top.

"She's getting glammed up," a show insider tells RadarOnline.com, "she's still Betty, just Betty 2.0."
This second generation Betty has a blowout, lip gloss, face-countouring makeup and a much needed waxer.

Looks like Meadow Soprano is ditching her New Jersey digs for the big city.
Former HBO mafia princess Jamie-Lynn Sigler is joining the cast of Ugly Betty, a recurring role which will place her as the new assistant to Eric Mabius' editor-in-chief Daniel Mead, at New York's chic Mode magazine.
While that particular position was famously occupied by America Ferrera as the brainy, badly dressed Betty, she's was promoted last season to Features Editor of the fictional mag.
Sigler will debut on the show's season premiere this October, says EW, alongside Mabius, Ferrera and Vanessa Williams.
The actress first rose to prominence as the daughter of James Gandolfini and Edie Falco on The Sopranos.

We love the ridiculous ways moms-to-be prepare for the arrival of their little ones on Platinum Babies. Tonight, an ecoconscious writer with her second child on the way only registers for organic baby products and gets herself in shape with special workouts, an acupuncturist and a doula. She must be exhausted and the baby hasn’t even arrived yet!

Ugly Betty is back with the premiere of its fourth season tonight and there are big changes at Mode magazine—including a slightly less ugly version of Betty who’s now an associate editor. Everything isn’t all rosy for Betty, of course, now that her ex-boyfriend Matt is her boss while Daniel has a hard time dealing with the death of Molly and the loss of Betty as his faithful assistant.

It's a girl for Ugly Betty star Ana Oritz and her husband, musician Noah Lebenzon! The proud parents gave birth on Saturday.
"She is elated and completely glowing," Ortiz's rep told People.com. "She is surrounded by her friends and family and so happy to be a mom. She is just really enjoying the moment. The baby is absolutely beautiful."
The baby girl was born at 4:25 p.m. in New York City and weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz.
So far Anna and Noah have yet to choose a name.
