French politician Dominique Strauss-Kahn was let out of New York's Rikers Island jail on Friday, a day after a Manhattan court granted the accused sex offender a release on $1 million bail and a $5 million bond.

Under the terms New York Supreme Court Justice Michael J. Obus laid out in his ruling Thursday, Strauss-Kahn will be allowed to stay at the New York home of his daughter Camille on house arrest; he will wear an electronic monitoring device and an armed guard will be on hand at all times.

Prosecutors arguing against Strauss-Kahn’s release cited the case of Roman Polanski, the Oscar-winning director who jumped his bail in 1977.

French politician Dominique Strass-Kahn has resigned from his position as the head of the International Monetary Fund, the organization that oversees global financial policy.

The news came as authorities released his mug shot amid a sex scandal.

The 62-year-old Strass-Kahn, who’s accused of sexually assaulting a maid at the Sofitel hotel last week, is currently in custody at New York's Rikers Island.

Lindsay Lohan went bowling in New York Friday, and RadarOnline.com has the pictures.

Lindsay, her younger sister Ali, and about 10 friends went to the Bowlmor Lanes near Times Square.  They took over a private area known as the Chinatown Room but how Lindsay scored is being kept top secret.

As RadarOnline.com was the first to report, Lindsay received the court's permission last Sunday to leave California and travel to New York with her family.

Lindsay has so far refused a plea deal in the felony theft case against her, although Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz has given her an extension -- until March 25 -- to accept the offer.  She is accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a jewelry store near her rental home in the Venice Beach area of L.A.

A preliminary hearing has been set for April 22. That's when a new judge will decide if there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and also possibly send her to jail for a probation violation.

Until then, Lindsay intends to hang with her family and friends in New York.
