An Afghan woman who became the face of Taliban brutality after her husband and in-laws hacked off her nose and ears has not had a Hollywood happy ending despite the global spotlight on her plight.

Aesha was catapulted to infamy when she appeared on the August 2010 cover of Time magazine unashamed of the butchered face that she received as punishment for trying to run away from an abusive marriage in the war-torn country.

By Adam S. Levy - Radar Staff Writer

From Egypt to Libya to Wall Street, the disenchanted masses have made their voices heard in 2011, and Time Magazine, in turn, has named "The Protester" their Person of the Year.

Managing editor Richard Stengel announced the winner on Wednesday’s edition of The Today Show. He said finalists included the year's most famous bride, Kate Middleton;  Admiral William H. McRaven, who helped lead the Navy SEAL operation that captured Osama Bin Laden; and Congressman Paul Ryan.

Stengel said that late Apple founder Steve Jobs is well-remembered in the magazine, but the purpose of the issue is not “a lifetime achievement award,” but who made the biggest impact in the calendar year, positive or not.

Sarah Palin probably doesn't want to hang her possible presidential ambitions on the success of her documentary, The Undefeated.

The film opened this weekend to near-empty theaters in just 10 cities. And The critics were brutal.

"An excruciating combination of bombast and whining," wrote The New York Post reviewer.

"The movie may tempt even the most ardent conservatives to emulate their idol's tenure as governor -- and walk out halfway through," offered the reviewer for Time magazine.

Another film critic reports that when he went to the theater to see The Undefeated, it was empty except for two other couples. One walked out 20 minutes into it. The other couple, a pair of teenagers, had apparently picked the theater at random as a place to get up close and personal. They made out through the entire flick.

Palin has said that she'll make her presidential campaign decision by late August or early September.

Time Magazine released their list of the top 100 most influential people Thursday, filled with the usual movers and shakers of industry, entertainment and politics, and while the selections are interesting, we here at RadarOnline.com are far more fascinated with the other list they published: The least influential people of 2010.
