Idina Menzel: Will Work For Glee

Idina Menzel wants in on Glee. The gorgeous Tony-award winner, according to her hubby, Taye Diggs, told Fancast that Menzel, 38, “would love" the opportunity to play the mother of Rachel, a character played by 23-year-old Lea Michele (who bears an amazing resemblance to Menzel).
"They know each other," Diggs said, "so we knew that [resemblance] existed far, far before the TV world did. I know that she would love that ... [such casting] would be awesome."
According to Diggs, him and Menzel, a Broadway vet synonymous with her sterling performances in Rent and Wicked, took in Michele's appearance in Broadway production Spring Awakening, and were impressed with the 23-year-old's talent.

Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel welcomed their first child Walker Diggs at the beginning of the month and the actor recently explained to RadarOnline.com how they chose his name.
The couple gets some happy news
"I was reading Alice Walker and just loved the way the last name rang. We had a bunch of other names as well, "but that one kind of won out," the Private Practice star said at a private dinner for the American Cancer Society event at Spago on Monday night.
As for fatherhood, the new dad could barely contain his excitement. "I love it," he gushed. "I'm just starting at it. I can only imagine it's just going to get better."
Even though "every day is completely different", Diggs is "smiles all the time."

Guiding Light Extinguished After Amazing 72-Year Run

Guiding Light, the Guinness Book of World Record-holder for the longest-running drama, will air its final episode Friday, the last for the soap opera which first premiered in 1937 and broadcast on more than 15,700 weekdays.
"We are the history of so many people," actress Tina Sloan said. "They watched it for so long.”

Looks like cigars will be passed from Broadway to Hollywood, as stars Taye Diggs and Indina Menzel are celebrating the arrival of their firstborn, a baby boy!
Meznel delivered Walker Diggs and, according to reps, "mother, father and son are all doing well."
Diggs and Menzel met as costars in Broadway's Rent, marrying in 2003 after seven years of courtship.
Little walker joins the couple's previous babies--a Yorkshire terrier named Sammy Davis Jr. and two cats, Ella and Coltrane.
