An autopsy on Grease and Taxi star Jeff Conaway has resulted in a ruling that his tragic death was an accident, RadarOnline.com can report.

The actor - who battled a public addiction to drugs - died from a major internal infection, according to the Associated Press.

Conaway was taken off life support on May 27th and died at just 60.

Los Angeles County coroner Craig Harvey said a toxicology test was not conducted because the troubled star had been hospitalized for weeks prior to his death, so his blood would have come back clean.

However he said when Conaway entered the hospital opiates and other drugs were in his system.

Conaway appeared on Celebrity Rehab and worked with Dr. Drew Pinsky who said the actor "was a terribly complex case with chronic pain, opiate addiction and severe childhood trauma."

Celebrities such as Corey Feldman and The Temptations will reportedly attend and perform at a private memorial at a Los Angeles-area church, June 21, for late star Jeff Conaway, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

Marilyn Manson, a good pal of the late actor, has also been invited to the event, which will be held by Conaway's ex-girlfriend, Vikki Lizzi.

Jeff Conaway’s passing has his friends and family already missing him, but staying hopeful that he’s “in a better place.”

As RadarOnline.com was first to report the 60-year-old actor sadly died on Friday morning after he was pulled from the life-support that sustained him after he’d slipped into a coma.

Conaway’s first wife, Rona Newton John, (also his Grease co-star Olivia Newton John’s sister) told RadarOnline.com she was not with him in the hospital the moment he passed but had been there for the last couple weeks supporting him.

“I was not there today...but I’ve been there for the last two weeks. The whole thing is very sad,” Rona said.

Actor Jeff Conaway has died at age 60, marking the end of a long, sad road of addiction that made him one of Hollywood's cautionary tales.

The New York native was best known for playing T-Bird Kenickie in the iconic musical Grease, and struggling actor Bobby Wheeler on the television series Taxi.

Jeff Conaway’s former fiancée Vikki Spinoza was not with the actor when he passed-away Friday, RadarOnline.com has learned.

Spinoza, commonly known as Vikki Lizzi, had gotten embroiled in a feud with the actor’s family and was fighting for them not to take him off life support.

But those pleas fell on deaf ears and she was not allowed access to the 60-year-old during his final moments.

As Jeff Conaway struggles to hold onto life, his former Taxi co-stars Tony Danza and Marliu Henner have maintained a bedside vigil of their beloved friend since he was hospitalized, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

"Marilu has been talking to Jeff, and he seemed to be trying to respond to her over the weekend, even though he has been in a medically-induced coma," a source close to Conaway told RadarOnline.com.

"Jeff would turn his head towards Marilu when she was talking to him. It was truly a touching moment," added the source.

Shortly before Grease star Jeff Conaway fell into a coma from an apparent drug overdose May 11, he left a voice mail on a friend’s phone during which he seems incapable to enunciate his phone number!

Conaway, 60, can be heard badly slurring his words then remains intelligible only as he tells his area code.

The voice mail was left for a longtime friend, actor Ethan Tudor W., who released it on his website.

“When Jeff makes it through this, I really hope that he gets the help he desperately needs,” said Tudor W., who appeared in several popular British television series.

On the message, a heavy-tongued Conaway can be heard saying: “Ethan, how ya doing? Haven’t spoken to you in a while. Lot of changes going on in my life. I’m moving into a new place in a couple of weeks, working like crazy to get this script done…but anyway give me a call…”

And his voice trails as he attempts to leave his entire call-back number.
