Alor says because Monica’s body was found in sewages waters, “several tests were lost; the body was badly decomposed.” But authorities were able to get a good enough DNA sample – and those tests are expected soon.

The attorney general is handling the death as a homicide with intent, not manslaughter. He says it’s homicide because of “the viciousness (of the crime) and hiding the body.” Alor also says since the crime was committed in Mexico, the trial should take place there. According to Alor, homicide carries a 30 year prison sentence.

EXCLUSIVE: Mistress Identity Revealed In Case of Survivor Producer Suspected Of Murdering Wife
The 41-year-old was found in a sewer outside the luxury hotel Moon Palace in Cancun, Mexico, where she was vacationing with her husband Bruce, who in addition to Survivor, worked on Pimp My Ride. Bruce was arrested April 8 and later released, but is not allowed to leave the country pending the investigation. State investigator spokesman Adrian Cardana told RadarOnline.com that Bruce is the only suspect in the case and is under the care of the U.S. Consulate.

Monica’s family said that Bruce was having an affair, and the couple went to Mexico to rekindle their marriage. Monica’s sister, Carla Burgos, told RadarOnline.com exclusively: "There were witnesses who heard someone screaming and calling for help,” in the swanky hotel. Cardana tells RadarOnline.com that there were no security cameras in that part of the resort. Several hotel employees were reportedly interviewed by Mexican investigators on Wednesday and generally agree on the events of that night. But details were not released.

Investigators say the only thing standing in the way of an arrest now is the DNA results. Cardana says the information they get from the DNA results will be the determining factor for the possibility of extradition.
Bruce and Monica have two children, who are now in the custody of Bruce’s parents.
