Today... miracles are happening. His vital signs are improving. He's responsive. His eyes are welling up when we're talking to him. Bret Michaels' Sister Says He Is "Not Out Of The Woods Probably For Six Months"

DNP Random Things

Michelle Sychak, Bret Michaels’ sister, called into the syndicated morning radio talk show,  the Todd N Tyler Radio Empire, Wednesday morning to talk about Bret getting out of the hospital but not being out of the woods just yet, and Radaronline.com has the details.

Bret Michaels’ Started Walking Again

Michelle says: "Good news!  It was shocking because I really didn't see that happening.  He's doing really well.  I mean, he sounded great.  I could tell, you know I think that Barrows Institute is great, but when you think (and this is kinda what I was saying on CNN) about what was around him, he was doing so much better than most of the people that are in there.  Imagine if you will you're in a ward where you've survived this brain injury and you're feeling pretty good and you're yourself and you can walk and talk and you can do all those things. and then everyone around you or most of the people around you are either in a coma or maybe a vegetative state or they're just nowhere near the level, you know what I mean? And just, I think it was very difficult for him to see that every day, and he said it just was so depressing and he really pushed to be transferred to you know someplace with I think people that were in the same level of mindset as he is...."

As RadarOnline.com has previously reported,  Michaels was rushed to the hospital last week after suffering a brain hemorrhage which left him with slurred speech, blurred vision and dizziness  as a result of the bleeding at the base of his brain stem.

Bret Michaels In Critical Condition

Michelle goes on to share the good news that Bret is no longer in the hospital, and is currently in another rehab facility...
"...To try to sort of get himself back to normal.  And I think the next step is home, and I don't think that will be too long down the road.  I think he'll do better in a little bit more upbeat, I guess is the word I would use...I talked to my Mom and Dad, and we're all planning our trip out."

"Brett is just chomping at the bit to get back out....  the doctors never did find the source of the bleeding.  He's not out of the woods probably for six months."

Donald Trump “Praying” For Bret Michaels Recovery

Michelle says that everyone in the Michaels family is really excited, and that she and her sister are planning to travel to go see Bret in a couple weeks.

New Developments: Bret Michaels Recovery Could Take Several Weeks To Months

Posted on Apr 28, 2010 @ 06:13AM - 11 comments
DNP Random Things

Test results received on Tuesday indicated that Bret Michaels has undergone a setback in his recovery - a side effect from the brain hemorrhage he suffered called hyponatremia, a lack of sodium in the body which leads to seizures.

Doctors say this can be a very painful thing to recover from and that it can take several weeks to months to overcome.

Bret's camp posted the sad news Tuesday afternoon on Michaels' Facebook page.

This news comes as a major setback to fans. A publicist had said earlier in the day that Michaels condition had been upgraded from critical to stable, getting hopes up for everybody.

But this information proved to be premature and by the end of the day the latest reports showed Bret's condition was, in fact, worsening.

The test results demonstrated that Michaels suffered a kind of stroke that causes bleeding in the fluid-filled spaces around the base of the brain.

In the posting Bret's people write, "Many people are speculating Michaels head injury [came] from a prop striking the singer at the Tony awards last June.

"Additional studies are planned throughout the week to hopefully detect the exact cause of the rupture. Coupled with the fact that Michaels is a lifelong Type 1 diabetic and has recently undergone emergency appendectomy surgery while on tour in San Antonio, he will remain monitored closely by his medical team to make sure no complications occur from the diabetes."

They also say that the type of stroke Michaels has suffered "presents itself suddenly as the sound of a loud gunshot or thunderclap at the back of the head causing severe cranial pain and muscle spasms."

But it's not all doom and gloom, the post says, " Doctors state Michaels is very lucky as his condition could have been fatal. With further testing and rehabilitation, they are hopeful that Bret will gradually improve as the blood surrounding the brain dissolves and is reabsorbed into his system."

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW:  "I've Got A Blood Clot Or Blockage," Says Michael Lohan

Posted on Mar 07, 2010 @ 05:59PM - 36 comments
DNP Random Things

A day after he was rushed to the hospital for chest pains, Michal Lohan was on his way back to New York and told RadarOnline.com exclusively that his crisis has surprisingly brought him closer to ex-wife Dina.

EXCLUSIVE: Michael Lohan Rushed To Hospital

"I just got off the phone with Dina and we were crying to each other," Lohan told RadarOnline.com Sunday afternoon while driving back to his Southampton, NY home with girlfriend Kate Major.

As we exclusively reported Saturday night, Michael and Kate were in Massachusetts where Michael was scheduled to fight in a Celebrity Boxing Match.  After failing his pre-fight physical, Lohan began experiencing intense "pins and needles" in his left arm and EMTs decided to rush him to the hospital.  His blood pressure was measured at 170/124.

Michael Lohan & Kate Major Moving To Hollywood

"I've got either a blood clot or a blockage," a weak-sounding Lohan said Sunday.  "They told me, 'This is a stroke waiting to happen'.  What's crazy is that the day before we left, I had my Nitro in the little pocket of my jeans and Kate was doing laundry and washed the jeans, and I lost it.  Thank God when this incident happened last night, there was a man standing nearby who had Nitro on him."

Michael also revealed that his medical emergency was no surprise.

"They wanted to put stents in my heart three years ago, but I never did anything about it," he said.  "Last night at the hospital they wanted to do it right there but my cardiologist in New York said is was too invasive.  I used to be on medication for this problem.  I never told anyone.  And then I stopped taking it, frankly because it made me gain weight and I'm such an a**h*** about being in shape and exercising."

AUDIO:  Lindsay Lohan's Cry For Help

Lohan says he's "not himself" right now and admits that while he is stable, he's still feeling pretty under the weather.  He says he plans to see his own doctor Monday.
