After Joran van der Sloot appeared in a Peruvian court Tuesday to fight an extradition order that could send him back to the U.S. to face new charges, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting that his attorney believes it is a waste of tax-payers’ money to have him stand trial in America.

“This week I am going to present a motion with the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights on behalf of Joran van der Sloot to halt the extradition of him from Peru to the U.S.,” explained one of attorneys Aldo Cotrina. “I believe it will be successful because our claims against Peru for human rights violation are strong.”

Convicted killer Joran van der Sloot is challenging attempts to have him extradited from Peru to the U.S. to stand trial for extortion and wire fraud charges in connection with the mysterious disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway in Aruba.

The Dutchman, who confessed to the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores in May 2010, appeared before a judge and prosecutor in a Lima, Peru courtroom for an extradition hearing on Tuesday and stated that he would prefer to finish serving a 28-year murder sentence there, reported CNN.com.

Peru has approved the extradition of convicted killer Joran van der Sloot to the U.S. to stand trial for extortion and wire fraud in connection with the disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway.

According to court documents obtained by Joran's attorney Maximo Altez, a Peruvian judge has approved a U.S. request for provisional detention, marking the first step in the extraction process and meaning he could land on American soil within three months, reported CNN.com.

Joran van der Sloot is continuing to try and garner more funds in his desperate bid to avoid the 28 year sentence that was handed down to him on January 13, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

The convicted killer, who confessed to the May 2010 murder of Stephany Flores, is still asking his "guardian angel," Mary Hamer, for money despite her announcing on Sunday that she was no longer going to support him.

A source exclusively told RadarOnline.com that the 24-year-old Dutchman has been manipulating Hamer to give him more money to pay lawyer fees and pay off prison staff.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Hamer decided to hang up her angel wings and stop supporting Joran after sinking up to $100,000 into his legal campaign.

The Dutch killer’s guardian angel’s newest mercy mission is Amir Hekmati, the Iranian-American who was sentenced to death earlier this year on charges that he was allegedly a CIA spy.

Hamer, a radiologist from Lake City, Florida, wrote a letter on Sunday to the Iranian government begging for him to be set free, and RadarOnline.com has exclusively received the mail that she sent to the highest powers.

The woman dubbed the “guardian angel” of convicted killer Joran van der Sloot has issued a bizarre resignation letter saying she “accepts defeat” in the case.

RadarOnline has exclusively received the note from Mary Hamer, which she addressed to, among others, President Obama, Beth Holloway and Joran himself.

Hamer had paid around $100,000 in legal fees for the 24-year-old Dutchman during his murder trial. He was convicted on January 13 of beating and strangling Peruvian business student Stephany Flores after she found out he was a suspect in the disappearance of an Alabama teen from Aruba in 2005.
