Legal Expert and former View co-host, Star Jones, is lashing out at the racial prejudice which she feels allowed director Roman Polanski to avoid being arrested for three decades.
Jones discusses Polanski’s recent arrest in an interview with The Insider set to air Monday night. The director, who was married to Charlie Manson victim Sharon Tate in the 1960s, was taken into custody last month in Zurich, Switzerland, 30 years after fleeing the US to avoid sentencing in a sex assault case involving a 13-year-old girl.
Roman Polanski Arrested
In a statement released Monday, CBS said, “Jones sounds off on director Roman Polanski, saying, ‘I have no sympathy for him. He’s in jail. Three hots and a cot, that’s what you’re supposed to get. Something tells me Spike Lee would not have been allowed to chill in France for the last three decades had he admitted to having sex with a 13-year-old.’

She goes on to say, ‘Roman Polanski is very much loved by the Hollywood industry and they are out there putting petitions together…because he is white and he is rich, he was privileged.’”
Polanski has received statement of support from Hollywood heavy weights such as Harvey Weinstein, Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese.

Attending a birthday celebration for her friend Marlene Veloz, Oprah Winfrey arrived wearing a show-stopping hat that can only be described as fashionably unique.
The ladies-only luncheon took place May 23 in Santa Barbara, CA and trivia fans might recognize Marlene as the woman who sold Oprah her $50 million estate there in 2001.
But back to that hat: the style is crushed stove pipe.
And the color purple makes it the clear winner in the crazy chapeaus competition up against Star Jones at the Kentucky Derby and that all-time classic worn by Aretha Franklin at President Barack Obama’s Inauguration.
