The world's most famed diamond -- the 45.52-carat blue Hope Diamond -- will be redesigned and set to honor the 50th Anniversary of jeweler Harry Winston's donation of the treasure to the Smithsonian Institution National Museum of Natural History.
The house of Harry Winston has designed three settings, each representing "modern hope in America;" its new setting will be determined via online poll, with the voting set to take place August 19 until September 7 at the Smithsonian Channel. The finished product will be revealed in the Smithsonian Channel's "Mystery of the Hope Diamond" in March of 2010, and kept in the voter-chosen display until the end of the year.
