Sly Stone Completes 90 Day Rehab!

Sly Stone of the 70s funk band Sly & The Family Stone has successfully completed his court ordered 90-day treatment program, stemming from a drug arrest, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Sly was homeless and living in his van and has battled an addiction to crack cocaine for years. The musician was arrested and charged with cocaine possession last year.

"Sly is sober for the first prolonged period of time in probably 30 years,” a source close to Stone tells RadarOnline.com exclusively. “Sly will remain in rehab for another week, until arrangements can be made for him to transition to a sober living facility, or some other type of follow-up treatment. Sly wants to get back out on the road and tour again, and his doctor fully supports that.

Stone was in court earlier this week, with his attorney and psychiatrist, Dr. Charles Sophy, who was instrumental in getting the rock icon to go to rehab. Sly formally pled no contest to the drug charge, and if he successfully completes his rehab program, and other terms of his probation, the charge will be dismissed.

Sly Stone of the 70's funk band Sly & The Family Stone has entered a rehab facility in Malibu for his addiction to crack cocaine, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Sly Stone of the 70's funk band Sly & The Family Stone has entered a rehab facility in Malibu for his addiction to crack cocaine, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

The musician was arrested and charged earlier this year for being in possession of cocaine. Stone had been homeless, and living in his van.

The 68-year-old "wants to get clean, and stay sober. Sly has fallen on very hard times in the past few years. Sly will be in rehab for at least the next 90 days, and he is committed to getting sober," a source close to Stone tells RadarOnline.com.

Sly Stone, one of the most influential music figure of the 1960s and 1970s, is now living in a van parked on a Los Angeles street.

The funk and soul music legend, whose group Sly & the Family Stone put out such timeless hits as Dance to the Music and Everyday People, is now 68 and penniless.

A retired couple who live on the street where he regularly parks his camper van, allow him to shower in their home and give him a meal each day," reports The New York Post who found Stone.

“I like my small camper,” he told The Post. “I just do not want to return to a fixed home. I cannot stand being in one place. I must keep moving.”

Stone had previously lived in mansions in Los Angeles and the Napa Valley. He dropped hundreds of thousands of dollars on cars, and drug use played a well-chronicled role in his downfall.

He is now suing a former business manager and he told The Post the FBI is after him. But he still wants to perform.

"My music is a format that will encourage you to have a song you won’t forget. That’s why I got so much money, that there are so many people around, and that’s why I am in court. Millions of dollars!” Stone said.
