Slumdog Millionaire star Rubina Ali celebrated her birthday for the first time in a lavish affair this weekend. The child star, who played the young Latika, had a massive party at her slum in Mumbai, India, to celebrate her eleventh birthday. It will be the last in the slums as she prepares to move to a new flat with her family.

It's been nearly a year since Slumdog Millionaire stars Freida Pinto and Dev Patel took Hollywood by storm and the real-life couple are still going strong. RadarOnline.com has the details on the adorable duo's weekend getaway in San Diego.

Calling it a night after a romantic dinner at Nobu, Pinto and Patel spent the next day checking out the sights of San Diego including both SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo.
"They brought out this cat called an ocelot named Diego! Have you seen him? He is so soft and cute.” Pinto was overheard gushing as she walked through the hotel lobby after their outings."We did the VIP tour and got the feed the animals. We saw and did so much.”
With a memorable, whirlwind weekend behind them, the two left the city with some flair. They skipped the freeway traffic by jumping on train for a scenic ride back to Los Angeles.

Slumdog Millionaire beauty Freida Pinto rescued a fan in London after she fell into the path of an oncoming car.
The 25-year-old actress was shopping in the capital’s West End on Tuesday evening with her Slumdog co-star and boyfriend Dev Patel when the fan ran towards them to say hello.

Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle has answered an S.O.S. from two of the Oscar winning film’s young stars by buying them new homes RadarOnline.com has learned.
Both Rubina Ali, 9, and Azharuddin Ismali, 10, were reduced to tears after bulldozers flattened their shanty-like homes in Mumbai, India, to make way for a railway station.
British film-maker Boyle flew-out to India amid claims that that he had abandoned the young stars despite the fact that a trust had been set-up for them.

Mumbai officials Wednesday demolished the makeshift home of Rubina Ali, the 9-year-old star of $326 million, octo-Oscar-winning blockbuster Slumdog Millionaire.
"I'm feeling bad," Ali told the AP of the destruction efforts, which commonly claim shanty homes in the city. "My house had been demolished. I'm thinking about where to sleep."
Last week, the shanty home of her fellow Slumdog child star, Azhar Mohammed Ismail, was bulldozed in a similar procedure.

One minute, you're a star -- then, your home is being demolished.
The ramshackle house inhabited by one of the child stars of Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire was bulldozed as part of a mass demolition effort by Mumbai city workers Thursday.
Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail, who played the youngest incarnation of Salim in the film, said he was rudely awoken by a police officer, who whacked him with a bamboo stick to alert him of the pending efforts.

Khursheed Ali, the birth mother of Slumdog Millionaire child star Rubina Ali, said she will do "whatever it takes" to win custody of her daughter.
The vow comes just a week after a controversy in which Ali's father and legal custodian, Rafiq Qureshi, was implicated and subsequently cleared of accusations he sought to sell his 9-year-old daughter for $300,000 on the black market.
