Bethenny Frankel’s Skinnygirl Margaritas are still under fire, this time for using “lower quality” tequila.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, a $10 million class-action lawsuit was filed against Bethenny’s Skinnygirl Margarita company and the parent company Beam Global Spirits, for falsely claiming the drink was “all natural” with “no preservatives.”

In an amended version of the lawsuit, two drinkers of Skinnygirl claim that the tequila used is “a lower quality and purity tequila by-product called mixto – essentially a mash of tequila and some unknown additives (rarely organic) which may comprise as much as 49 percent of the final mixed liquor,” according to the NY Post.

Not only is Bethenny Frankel headed for a divorce according to her estranged mother, but she also told Star magazine that the Skinnygirl Margarita concept was her idea!

Bethenny married Jason Hoppy a year and a half ago and the two had their first child just two months later, but Bethenny’s mother, Bernadette Birk, thinks the relationship will crumble when her daughter can’t gain anything else from it.

“Right now, he is a good father, but soon she won’t need him and she will dump him,” Bernadette exclusively told Star in their issue on newsstands now. “Her husband seems like a really nice guy, but it won’t last. He is really too weak for her.”

The class action lawsuits filed in Los Angeles against Skinnygirl Margarita and the parent company Beam Global Spirits claim the drink “purports to be “All Natural” and containing “no preservatives” even though the beverage product contains synthetic sodium benzoate.”

The lawsuits want Skinnygirl Margarita to “remove any and all “all natural” representations from the labels and packaging,” and to prevent the company from claiming the drink is all natural “as long as the Skinnygirl Margarita product continues to contain sodium benzoate.”
