Despite internet reports that the cast of the Jersey Shore had until the end of the day on Monday to accept MTV’s contract for a second season of the hit reality show, representatives for the cast members tell RadarOnline.com that the rumor is false and also reveal how the negotiations are going.

“I haven’t seen their contract but the reports that the decision needs to be made by the end of the day is all speculation and hearsay,” Michael Schweiger, the agent for all of the cast besides Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, told RadarOnline.com.

“They all would obviously want to do a second season. I’m sure they are all planning on doing a second season but management is negotiating their contracts right now.”
Schweiger believes that the talks between the cast and MTV have been harmonious thus far: “I believe everything is going along smoothly.”
Adam Leber, DJ Pauly D’s manager (and also manager for a popstar named Britney Spears), echoed Schweiger’s sentiments.

“A negotiation is a negotiation and there is no deadline that I’m aware of.”
Their were also reports that the cast was putting up a “Friends”-like front, negotiating their money and terms as one unit rather than individually.
Scott Talarico, Snooki’s manager, confirmed that the cast has “worked closely with each other throughout this” but was unaware of an “all for one, one for all” effort.
“I don’t know,” he replied. “I just work with Nicole so can’t answer that question.” Hmm, sounds like a no!
