Scott MacIntyre, the first legally-blind American Idol contestant, was sent packing on Thursday night's results show.
After weeks on the bubble in the competition, his performance of Survivor's The Search Is Over fell short of swaying judges or fans to give him a spot in the top seven.
"This is really tough," Simon Cowell, told the Arizona native. "Someone's got to make a decision here, and I'm going to say it's the end of the competition. Sorry."

Once again, it was Adam Lambert's star that shined the brightest.
Lambert somewhat saved an-otherwise lacking group performance of Kylie Minogue's 2001 hit Can't Get Out Of My Head on Thursday night's results show, just a week after the show was criticized for alleged lip-syncing during the group number.

Lady Gaga is performing live tonight on American Idol but we have learned exclusively that David Cook pre-taped his spot two weeks ago citing "a personal family matter." Remember last week ….finalist Michael Sarver was eliminated from AMERICAN IDOL. OUCH!

Last night, nine of the dozen semifinalists on American Idol got early retirement.
The three performers who received the most votes from viewers were 23 year-old Memphis mother of three Lil Rounds, 23 year-old Scottsdale pianist Scott MacIntyre, and 20 year-old Puerto Rican college student Jorge Nunez.
