Cops have released the first frantic 911 call to come in, moments after the massacre at a Seal Beach, Calif. hair salon on Wednesday.

An unidentified caller gave the California Highway Patrol operator -- calls from cell phones in Calif. go to a CHIPS dispatcher -- a description of the shooter as a 300 lb. white man and said he'd calmly walked down the street after leaving the salon.

The rampage at Salon Meritage took the lives of eight people. Another victim is in the hospital, critically injured.

Scott Dekraai, wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying three handguns, was arrested at the scene.

One of the victims, who police believe was the prime target, was Dekraai's ex-wife Michelle Fournier. The two, who'd divorced in 2007, were engaged in an on-going custody battle. They were in court just 24 hours before the shooting.

Police in Seal Beach, California are holding a news conference Friday to release new information into the deadly shooting at a hair salon, and RadarOnline.com is live streaming it.

Eight people were killed in the rampage Wednesday, and the suspected gunman, Scott Dekraai, will be charged today with multiple counts of murder; a ninth person remains hospitalized in critical condition.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported,  Dekraai -- who turns 41 on Monday -- was involved in a bitter custody dispute with his ex-wife, Michelle Daschbac, involving their son; Michelle was among the victims of the rampage.

Dekraai remains in custody without bail; he’ll make his first court appearance later today.

Chargers are set to be filed Friday against jilted ex-husband Scott Dekraai, who allegedly opened fire in a hair salon in Seal Beach, California Wednesday, killing eight people, including his ex-wife Michelle Fournier. Meanwhile, more than 1,500 mourners gathered in the salon’s parking lot Thursday night for a vigil to honor the victims.

Rev. Jim Peak opened the vigil saying, "There are no easy answers today ... but there is a power in coming together as a community and opening our hearts to each other."

The eight victims of the hair salon massacre in Seal Beach, California included a woman in fear of her husband, a nurse, and a doting grandmother.

Michelle Fournier: The 48-year-old from Garden Grove divorced the alleged gunman, Scott Dekraai, in 2007. Since then, the two had been embroiled in a vicious custody battle over their 8-year-old son. A day before, Fournier and Dekraai had been in court for a hearing.

Court records indicate the two had been embroiled in a custody battle over their 9-year-old son since 2007; friends and neighbors said they thought the custody issues could be at the crux of the violent rampage.

Both Scott and Michelle Dekraai were in family court for a routine hearing on Tuesday, according to court records.  Friends told KTLA-TV in Los Angeles that Scott was very vocal in his anger over having to share custody of his son.

Authorities said a gunman opened fire at Seal Beach, California hair salon Salon Meritage on Wednesday, killing eight people and leaving a ninth in critical condition, with friends and neighbors saying a custody battle was at the heart of the violent rampage.

“We thought it was maybe firecrackers,” an Anaheim woman named Cindy, who was getting her hair done during the shooting, told the LA Times. “But he just didn’t stop. Anybody he saw he was shooting. It went boom, boom, boom ... I was afraid he was going to shoot everybody.”

The suspected gunman -- Scott Dekraai -- was arrested about a half-mile from the salon, Seal Beach Police Sgt. Steve Bowles said.
