Gerard Butler has certainly come a long way since hitting bottom and giving up booze!
The Scottish actor, whose blackout drinking destroyed his career ambitions to become a lawyer in his twenties, explains why he quit drinking and how he got his life back together just in time to become an internationally known actor in an extensive new interview.

“I had gone from a 16-year-old who couldn’t wait to grasp life to a 22-year-old who didn’t care if he died in his sleep,” the actor revealed to Chris Sullivan of The Red Bulletin about his heavy drinking.
Butler, who was working as a trainee at an Edinburgh law firm during the time, explains that his drinking got him fired from the job.

Her brother Gerry Boyle spoke to RadarOnline.com exclusively about how she is handling the fame, what their holiday plans are, and who should play his sister in a biopic about her life.
“There have been scripts made from a lot less than Susan’s story which by any standards is remarkable," Gerry said. “I would not be surprised in the least if there was a film made of her life and I would personally like to see Kathy Bates play my sister. Other British actresses like Brenda Blethyn would also be great and I just hope they get Brad Pitt to play me!"

While Pitt may be a bit of a pipe dream, Boyle is hoping his sister's success will spill over to the rest of the family. “Susan is planning to be with her family over Christmas and New Year and it will be great to have her home with us over the holidays,” he added. “If an unknown woman from a small town in Scotland can go on to become the biggest selling artist in America then anything is possible. Boyle, who recently made the morning show rounds in America, this past week was "not nervous at all" about her trip across the pond.
“I’ve seen a tremendous change in my sister over the last year and she really has a strong team of people surrounding her now," Gerry said. “I think that the sales of her CD will also be strong in other markets around the world because Susan’s story is so unique and it gives a lot of people hope.
