The FBI is warning the public of an online scam that attempts to con its intended victims into buying a plane ticket in exchange for entry into a contest and a spot in the audience of an upcoming Oprah Winfrey Show taping.

An e-mail touting the "Oprah Millionaire Contest Show" asks recipients for their contact info, the FBI said Friday.

"Authorities have told us that there are at least a dozen scams currently being perpetrated which promise tickets, travel and money from The Oprah Winfrey Show," according to a statement on the show's Web site.
