An arrest warrant for the pair had been dropped after they posted bail of $20,000 each. Prosecutor Lee Carter revealed that the warrant to extradite them back to Santa Barbara had been dropped after they had failed to appear in court three times.

However, Marfa Mayor Daniel Dunlap says the husband and wife are in hot water back in his town after Evi got in an argument with an administrator and removed papers from his City Hall.

“The sheriff filed a ‘no trespass’ order against them in connection with this incident after Evi Quaid got into a fight with an administrator and took some papers,” he told RadarOnline.com exclusively. “Nobody has seen them in Marfa for around one week now and maybe they have returned to California for their pending court appearance.”

Since the Quaids arrived in Marfa – which only has a population of 2,400 – they have caused a lot of problems. Planning authorities had to place a cease and desist order on their property after they worked without the proper permits. Also, local Deputy James Davis has sued them for defamation after Evi painted the side of a truck and parked it outside Mayor Dunlap’s office accusing Davis of taking bribes.

Randy Quaid and his wife Evi failed to appear in Santa Barbara Superior Court Monday to be arraigned on felony charges for bailing on a $10,000 hotel bill.

The couple had been asked to appear last week but a judge granted an extension for the couple to appear in court by October 26th. The case has now been continued until Thursday.

District Attorney Lee Carter told a judge Monday " I'm not asking the courts to do this again.  If they don't show up on Thursday, that's it...  They're on their own."

A spokesperson for Santa Barbara District Attorney's office has said that if the Quaids failed to voluntarily appear in court, that extradition proceedings will continue and the couple could eventually be brought back to Santa Barbara by force.

The Quaid's new attorney, Ken Johnson of San Francisco, called the District Attorney's office last Friday and said the Quaids "just couldn't make it Monday -- that it was too soon."

In wake of the Quaids failing to appear in court, Senior Deputy District Attorney Lee Carter told RadarOnline.com: "I have begun the very lengthy process of preparing the extradition paperwork for the Quaids. It's my hope that the Quaids will voluntarily appear next Monday at 1:30 PM. There is still a warrant out for their arrest in California. It's my understanding that the Quaids have settled their outstanding bill with the San Ysidro Ranch. However, it's up to our office and the judge about if the charges should be dropped or not, no one else has a say in that."

Neighbors say ‘NEVER-NEVER’ To Neverland Theme Park Plan

Posted on Sep 10, 2009 @ 10:40AM - Add a comment
DNP Random Things

Neverland residents have blasted a report that Michael Jackson’s family and the owners of famous ranch have agreed to turn it into a Graceland-like amusement park.

Bob Field co-creator of the Never! Protest group exclusively told RadarOnline.com that the neighbors would ‘fight tooth and nail’ to stop the project which aims to ‘cash-in’ on the tragic star.

Private equity firm Colony Capital - who own the famous 2,676 acres estate – have agreed on trademark names with the family and would like to open it up to the public by Christmas.

The developers went to the US Patent and Trademark Office on August 12  to lodge several names.

It is tentatively being named under Sycamore Valley Ranch LLC - which it was known as before ‘The King Of Pop’ bought the secluded estate near Santa Barbara in California.

Jermaine Jackson is reportedly working with Colony Capital and is very eager to get Neverland opened-up as a tribute to his late brother.

But activist and local resident Bob Field has blasted any such move claiming that 90 per cent of the local residents are against turning it into a tourist attraction.

He told RadarOnline.com: “It is fantasy to think that Neverland will be opened-up to the public by Christmas that is just impossible.  They would have to go through the local authorities to obtain a permit and an environmental impact report and all of these things would take years.”

Field added: “The irony is that none of the local residents had anything against Michael Jackson, in fact we liked having him here, but he bought Neverland because it was so remote and secluded. The infrastructure is just not in place to cope with masses of people that this sort of tribute would attract and it would be better placed in Las Vegas or Los Angeles.”

The local residents had two meetings with Colony Capital in mid-July and Tom Barack from the company gave no sense that he was in a hurry to do any such development.

“The local councilor for Los Olivos Doreen Farr is also against any such project and it will be really difficult for them to make this happen.

“The reality is that it’s 5 miles to the nearest gas station or bathroom from Neverland and the rural roads could not cope with masses of traffic.

“If Colony Capital believe that Neverland is going to be open to the public by Christmas time they are totally delusional.”

Jackson lived at Neverland for almost two decades but after he was cleared of child molestation charges in 2005 he vowed never to return.

His brother Jermaine wanted him to be buried on the estate but he was over-ruled by the rest of the family and he was recently interred at the Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale instead.

Local residents opposing the development of Neverland into a theme park have created their own website at Nevereverland.org.

Colony Capital have no comment, however, a source tells RadarOnline, “No decision has been made on the plans for the property.”
