Randy Quaid and his wife Evi failed to appear in Santa Barbara Superior Court Monday to be arraigned on felony charges for bailing on a $10,000 hotel bill.
The couple had been asked to appear last week but a judge granted an extension for the couple to appear in court by October 26th. The case has now been continued until Thursday.
District Attorney Lee Carter told a judge Monday " I'm not asking the courts to do this again. If they don't show up on Thursday, that's it... They're on their own."
A spokesperson for Santa Barbara District Attorney's office has said that if the Quaids failed to voluntarily appear in court, that extradition proceedings will continue and the couple could eventually be brought back to Santa Barbara by force.

Randy and Evi Quaid are due in court later this month regarding an unpaid $10,000 hotel bill at the exclusive San Ysidro Ranch and a source has told RadarOnline.com that the hotel’s billionaire owner Ty Warner is fuming with them.
As well as racking-up the huge bill at the exclusive Santa Barbara retreat the pair reportedly damaged one of the exclusive cottages that they were staying in.
Perfectionist Warner - who also owns the nearby Biltmore Four Seasons Hotel – takes great pride in the appearance of the historic San Ysidro Ranch where John Kennedy and his wife Jackie Kennedy spent their honeymoon and where Laurence Olivier famously married Vivien Leigh.

“They have also left unpaid bills at the Biltmore Hotel and the Bel Air Hotel too, which like the San Ysidro Ranch is managed by Rosewood.

“Mr Warner loves to fly around the world and pick-up antiques in his private jet which he then puts in his hotels and he will be angered by their actions.
“He wants the San Ysidro Ranch to be a secret hide-away for stars and he hopes that they will respect the property and enjoy staying there.
Randy Banned From Theater By Actors Union
“He hates this kind of publicity that the Quaids have generated and I’m sure once this issue is resolved by the courts they will not be welcomed back.”
Despite reports that the oddball pair have settled the 10k bill prior to going to court on October 19, 2008 – a spokesperson for the San Ysidro Ranch would not confirm today if this was true.
The Brokeback Mountain star and his wife’s lives have been on a downward spiral in recent years with rumors of drug abuse by the pair.
Quaid was booted-out of the Actors Equity Association and fined $81,572 for inappropriate behavior towards the cast and crew of Lone Star Love.
While, more recently, Private Investigator Becky Altringer sued the actor and his former Helmut Newton model wife for $19,000 in unpaid legal fees.

EXCLUSIVE: Randy and Evi Quaid Were "A Complete Nightmare" Says Co-Star
Posted on Oct 02, 2009 @ 02:25PM - 7 comments

Apparently Randy and Evi Quaid's downward spiral extended to his professional life as well. A former main actor on the doomed play Lone Star Love opened up to RadarOnline.com about the hellish experience dealing with the couple.
Private Investigator Fears For Randy Quaid’s Life
"I’m not surprised that Randy and Evi Quaid’s lifes are spiraling out of control," the actor, who did not want to be named for fear of retaliation from the couple, said. “I don’t wish anybody ill will but those two were a complete nightmare and totally sabotaged the play and ruined it for everybody else."
An Arrest Warrant Is Issued For The Quaids
The Quaids are set to appear in a Santa Barbara court on October 19 regarding an unpaid $10,000 bill at the ritzy San Ysidro Ranch.
The news of their indiscretions did not come as a shock to the actor who helped bring the case against the pair which resulted in Quaid getting banned for life by the Actors Equity Association and fined $81,572 for inappropriate behavior while starring in the play.
Randy and Evi Face Felony Charges
“In my opinion they both enable one another and drug abuse is the root problem and until they get that sorted-out I fear things will only get worse for them," the actor continued. "A friend of mine was working with Randy Quaid only a few weeks ago on a voice-over gig and he showed up two hours late and was hellish to work for throughout. The sad part is that he is talented but until he mends his ways nobody will want to work with him.”
More on the Police Investigation
The actor revealed that Quaid and his wife - who served as his manager while he starred in Lone Star Love – indulged in some bizarre antics during the pre-Broadway run in Seattle in 2007.
The Brokeback Mountain actor played Falstaff in the play which was basically a country and western re-working of Shakespeare’s Merry Wives Of Windsor. According to the source their madcap antics included:
-Evi e-mailing a photograph of her vagina with the words “Eat Me” attached to it to a stage manager after her husband refused to wear costumes designed by Tony winner Jane Greenwood.
-Randy struck an actor three times on the head during a live performance of the play and then told irate production managers that he was only trying to knock his hat off.
-The husband and wife team hired security guards to protect them from the cast and crew because they felt endangered and then failed to pay them.
-Randy was continually verbally abusive to the other actors and crew constantly yelling “wrong f***ing deal” when things didn’t go his way.
-The husband and wife team would try and get other actors fired by playing good cop bad cop tactics to intimidate them about their performances.
-Evi would illegally video-tape performances and then post them on You Tube for self promotion of her husband.
-Randy refused to rehearse with the cast any changes in the preview run effectively bringing the production to a halt.
Ironically, when the Actors Equity Association held their hearing into the complaints that were lodged by all 26 of the cast’s production Randy did not appear for the video conference session in Los Angeles which was attended by his wife instead.
“It was ridiculous because when she was told that she had no place being there she went crazy and started calling everybody Nazis," the actor revealed. "As far as I’m concerned they single handedly destroyed the play before it got it’s Broadway run and this impacted so many people financially and emotionally too. But I’m glad that we stood up for ourselves and that the Actors Equity Association took the action that they did because at least they were held accountable for their actions.”
