This week, as North Carolina voters overwhelming approved a proposed amendment to the state’s constitution which limits marriage to a man and a woman, a self-described shy young man in Los Angeles has released a heartbreaking video on YouTube, telling the beautiful -- but ultimately tragic -- story of his relationship with his boyfriend of nearly six years.

In the video called "It Could Happen To You," 26-year-old Shane Bitney Crone shares his story of finding love, only to lose it when his partner Tom died in a senseless accident last year shortly after his 29th birthday. As horrible as his loss was, Shane says he wasn't prepared for what would happen next.

One Million Moms Call For JC Penney Boycott For Same-Sex Mother's Day Ad

A conservative group called One Million Moms has called for a boycott on JC Penney after the retailer depicted a lesbian couple in its' ads for Mother's Day, claiming the department store is "taking sides" in an ongoing "cultural war."

Referring to the catalog, the group wrote on its' website" "On pages 10 and 11, under the title 'Freedom of Expression,' you’ll find 'Wendi and her partner Maggie and daughters,' noting that "in the picture, both women are wearing wedding bands."

"Last time OMM contacted JCPenney store managers, we were brushed off," the group said. "Some even experienced in person the store manager saying 'Thank you' and walking off while their customer and our concerned members were in mid-sentence. OMM has been told that JCP corporate office told store managers to say "Thank you" and then walk away.

Gloria Allred To Lead LGBT Couples In Valentine’s Day Display Against Prop. 8

In a statement against Proposition 8, renowned civil rights attorney Gloria Allred will lead two LGBT couples to the East Los Angeles County Recorder’s Office Tuesday, where they’ll request marriage licenses, knowing they will be turned down, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

“Today, we go to marriage license counters across the country to tell our stories,” said Eileen Ma, the executive Director of API Equality-LA. “We live in every community and want to honor and protect our families just like everyone else.”

Ellen DeGeneres praises the overturning of the ban on same-sex marriages in California, and shoots back at a conservative group’s efforts to have her fired as a JC Penney spokeswoman because she is gay, on Wednesday's edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

First, DeGeneres said she was happy to see Proposition 8 -- which banned same sex marriages in California -- declared unconstitutional by a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Tuesday in San Francisco.

Panel Of Judges: California’s Ban On Same-Sex Marriage Unconstitutional

Proposition 8 -- which bans same-sex marriage in California -- was declared unconstitutional by a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Tuesday in San Francisco, leading to what's expected to be a face-off in the U.S. Supreme Court as early as 2013. 

By a 2-1 vote, the court found Proposition 8 to violate the civil rights of gays and lesbians, upholding the decision of former Chief U.S. Judge Vaughn Walker, who ruled on the matter in 2010.

Mario Cantone Marries Long-Time Partner

Sex and the City’s scene stealing GBF Mario Cantone has married his long-time partner.

The boyish looking Cantone, who’s actually 51, made the announcement during an appearance on ABC’s The View Friday, saying he recently wed Jerry Dixon, his partner of 20-years.

Cantone says he and Dixon  -- a  musical theater director  --  tied the knot after New York legalized same-sex marriage back in June.

"I got married for the same reasons you did," Cantone told Joy Behar, who also recently wed her long-time partner Steve.  "We're older now. We've been together 20 years. After 20 years you're like, 'Thanks for the anti-climactic honeymoon government!' "
