Queen Elizabeth II's 90-year-old husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was resting at the royal family's estate Sandringham Tuesday, after a four-night stay in the hospital in which he underwent a successful coronary stent procedure.

The royal complained of chest pains Friday and was airlifted to Cambridge's Papworth, a medical facility specializing in heart surgery, where it was discovered he had a blocked coronary artery.

Because he fell ill, the prince missed Sunday's royal church service and a Boxing Day shooting party Monday. Both Prince William and Prince Harry visited him while he was in hospital care.

Their loyal subjects turned out by the thousands to see Prince William and Kate, along with several other members of the British royal family, walk to and from church Christmas morning.

Kate was dazzling in an aubergine-colored coat and matching hat. She and William were joined by his father Prince Charles and stepmother Camilla, brother Prince Harry, and cousins Beatrice, Eugenie and Zara Phillips..Queen Elizabeth traveled by car.

After a traditional turkey lunch, several members of the family were planning to visit the family patriarch, 90-year-old Prince Philip, who remains in the hospital following emergency heart surgery on Friday.

Prince William and Kate Middleton will be enjoying the traditional Royal Christmas celebration as planned despite his grandfather having a heart scare.

Prince Philip, 90, was airlifted 60 miles to a nearby hospital from the Sandringham estate where the Royal family have their festive celebrations. The large property is located about two hours from London.

The Queen, her son Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, all visited Prince Philip Saturday at Papworth Hospital where he had a coronary stent fitted to treat his blocked artery. William and Kate are not expected to visit him in the hospital.

“The Duke of Edinburgh had a good night and is in good spirits but he is eager to leave,” Buckingham Palace spokeswoman Ailsa Anderson said.

“Sunday’s church service is going ahead as planned and we don’t anticipate changes to the Royal Family’s Christmas celebrations.”

It's hoped, but is uncertain, that Philip will be able to join the family back at their estate in time to see Kate make her five outfits changes on Christmas Day.

“Kate will need a casual outfit for breakfast, a smart outfit and a hat for the morning church service, a dress for lunch, a cocktail dress for early evening drinks and a full-length dress for the evening meal,” Royal etiquette expert Jean Broke-Smith told Grazia magazine.

Katy Perry hosted last night's Saturday Night Live and starred in a riotous skit about the royal family. With the he-can-do-anything Bill Hader as Prince Philip and Fred Armisen reviving his cockney-version of Queen Elizabeth, Katy was there as Pippa Middleton.

The funniest moment was when the Pippa and the Queen compared their respective bums.

"I call my ass the IRA," said the Queen/Armisen. "When I walk into a pub, everybody's face explodes!"

Pippa Middleton is ensconcing herself into the Royal Family and has now bagged herself an invite to their traditional Boxing Day Pheasant Shoot.

As well as party planning, being a socialite, and having her rear end the subject of much discussion, Pippa is also apparently a rather good shot and is excited to be part of the day-after-Christmas festivities.

The 28-year-old younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge will join the Queen and the rest of the senior royals in an unusual move – as the occasion is normally just for the immediate clan.

This will be Kate Middleton’s first Christmas with her husband at Sandringham so Pippa's invite may have been to help her sis feel comfortable and at ease away from her parents for the holidays.

“Pippa’s very keen to go and she’s been on a couple of shooting weekends to make sure she won’t let the side down,” a source told the Daily Mail.

Pippa recently signed on to write a party planning book and received a near $600,000 advance for the manual.

Maybe there will be a chapter on how to look great while killing bird and a pheasant pie recipe!
