A jury in a Palm Beach, Florida courtroom has found the multi-millionaire who adopted his girlfriend guilty of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide after plowing into a 23-year-old student’s car in February 2010.
After two weeks of testimony and five-and-a-half hours of deliberations, the ruling was read on Friday and now John Goodman faces up to 30 years in prison when sentenced on April 30.

Both prosecution and defense attorneys rested their cases in the DUI manslaughter trial of John Goodman Thursday and left the fate of the multi-millionaire in the hands of the Palm Beach, Florida jury.
“The defendant was impaired, the defendant was speeding, the defendant ran a stop sign, the defendant probably unintentionally had too much to drink that night," prosecutor Sherri Collins said in her closing arguments, reported ABCNews.com. "And when the crash happened, did he go around and look at the front of the car to see what he hit or to the canal that was three feet away? No, he headed south."

The multi-millionaire who adopted his girlfriend took to the stand in his DUI manslaughter trial Wednesday in an attempt to explain his actions on the February 2010 night when he was involved in a fatal accident with a 23-year-old student.
Dressed in a dark suit and spotted tie, John Goodman, 48, stammered as he told the Palm Beach, Florida court that he consumed two shots of tequila and two shots of vodka over the course of the night, and claimed he then left the swanky Players Club shortly before the crash on a quest for a Wendy's Frosty, reported the Palm Beach Post.

Jurors in the DUI manslaughter trial of the multi-millionaire who adopted his girlfriend heard conflicting versions of the events leading up to the crash that killed a 23-year-old student when both sides made their opening statements on Tuesday.
As RadarOnline.com has previously reported, John Goodman was over twice the legal limit when he smashed into Scott Wilson’s car in February 2010, pushing Wilson's vehicle into a Palm Beach, Florida canal, where he later drowned.

A Florida court had a tough time selecting jury members who weren’t familiar with John Goodman’s controversial adoption of his girlfriend, but after three days five men and three women have finally been chosen for the multi-millionaire’s DUI manslaughter trial.
"One thing has to be readily apparent -- unless they cover their eyes and muff their ears -- is that there is a circus atmosphere surrounding this trial outside the courtroom," explained defense jury consultant Joshua Dubin, reported wptv.com.

The husband of Real Housewives of Miami star Lea Black, prominent South Florida attorney Roy Black, will represent George Martorano, a convicted drug smuggler who's been behind bars for 27 years, in his hopes to have his life sentence in prison altered.
Martorano, 61, was arrested on non-violent, drug-related charges in 1983 and pleaded guilty to 19 counts the next year, according to the Miami Herald.
