Bee Gees’ Robin Gibb Loses Battle With Cancer, Dead At 62

Robin Gibb has died at the age of 62 after a valiant battle with colon cancer.
The Bee Gees star’s family released a statement confirming the sad news that he died today at 10.46 am.
“The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery,” the singer’s rep said.

“The family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time.”
Robin’s twin brother and band member Maurice Gibb passed away nine years ago after problems with his intestines. Younger brother Andy, who was a solo artist, died in 1988.

Robin Gibb is gravely ill, and reportedly has slipped into a coma.
The former Bee Gee was hospitalized last year for stomach and colon problems, and had intestinal surgery last month, RadarOnline.com previously reported.
The beloved singer's son has confirmed that the 62-year-old musician is in a London hospital, and his wife Dwine and brother Barry are both with him, according to AP on Saturday.

The Bee Gees were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and won seven Grammy Awards.
Robin's twin brother, Maurice, died of complications from a twisted intestine in 2003.

Just a month after saying he was making a “spectacular” recovery from cancer, Bee Gees star Robin Gibb, 61, is back in the hospital recovering from a further surgery, and has been forced to cancel several commitments.
“On Sunday 25 March, Robin Gibb underwent further intestinal surgery," read a statement released Wednesday to British media. "He is currently recovering in hospital and therefore, for the time-being, all existing commitments prior to the Titanic Requiem concert, have had to be cancelled."
