The Avengers has had the biggest opening weekend in Hollywood history. The action pic starring Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Chris Hemsworth, is on track to pull in stunning $200.3 million this weekend.

That knocks Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 clear out of the record books with its $169.1 million opening last summer.

The Avengers opened 12 days ago in several foreign markets, breaking records in many of those locations as well.

It looks like Robert Downey Jr. will be buying blue.

The A-lister, appearing on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno Monday, said he’s expecting a son with his pregnant wife Susan Levin.   

"I am not permitted to discuss it," the Iron Man star said of the baby's gender, before blurting out the news. "I can't say a word -- we're having a boy!"

Kevin Bacon and his wife Kyra Sedgwick were among the many victims of the $50 billion Ponzi scheme run by disgraced investor Bernard Madoff.

The actor, who was reportedly taken to the cleaners by the now jailed swindler, is speaking out about the scandal, telling the new issue of Details Magazine “I'm not going to say it didn't have its emotional downsides.”

Bacon manages to see the bright side though, going on to say: “But [Kyra and I] are both young, and we both had the ability to work and roll up our sleeves and start putting the pieces back together. The truth is that we went through it together.”

Robert Downey Jr. was an Iron Man - when it came to avoiding controversial questions - as the actor carefully worded responses to questions about two of his Hollywood pals, Mel Gibson and Charlie Sheen, in an appearance on the Today Show Tuesday.
