Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz and Kate Hudson all play covergirl on the November issue, shot by Annie Leibovitz, playing in the surf at dusk.
Kidman, in a stunning Pre-Fall 2009 Alexander McQueen gown, told the mag that after giving birth to daughter Sunday Rose she was ready to retire.
“I had no desire to work after I had my daughter, but to lure me back, this movie was the only way," Kidman said.
Nine is a deeply stylish adaptation of 8 1/2 and the whirlwind romances of Italian director Federico Fellini.
