Metallica fans in India rioted after the infamous kings of metal were forced to canceled their show Friday night due to safety issues.

The band was set to play their first-ever concert in the country but pulled the plug minutes before taking the stage because there were no security barriers separating them from the huge crowd.

25,000 fans had traveled from throughout the country to see them but what should have been a night of music ended in violence.

Banners were set on fire as people rushed the stage to trash the band's instruments that had been already set out for the performance.

Many were injured and the chaos caused massive traffic jams in the city of Guragon.

While the show promoters initially postponed the concert until Saturday night, they eventually canceled that too because they were unable to obtain the proper permits to hold the event, leaving fans even more annoyed.

Five people were taken to hospitals with minor injuries.

After a status update in a Long Island court on Wednesday, Scooter’s lawyer told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview, that his client should not be found guilty because the mall security and police were to blame.

“We believe the people that were responsible for security should have to answer... and the five minor injuries that were caused were because of the way the police handled the cancellation of the event,” said attorney Ravi Batra.

Three people were arrested, six injured and two hospitalized after a Manhattan casting call for America's Next Top Model turned into a melee, according to the New York Daily News.

"The girls were running like it was 9/11 part two," witness Jennifer Brown told the paper. "I feared for my life."

Saturday's casting call was intended for women 5-feet-7 and under, according to the report. A disorganized, cluttered line caused escalating tension, as one witness told the paper she had to urinate in a cup and change on the street so as not to lose her place in the line. Another woman said she could barely breathe in the compressed crowd.

A black BMW bellowing plumes of smoke caused panic among the would-be contestants who scrambled away in fear, knocking down a barricade and falling in the hysteria.

The show's host-producer, supermodel Tyra Banks, who hosts America's Next Top Model, said she was not sure what caused the melee.
