The troubled son of the late Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal was taken to task by Judge Michael Tynan at a progress report hearing Thursday morning. Reading from the progress report Judge Tynan said, " I thought this kid wanted to do something. He isn't working as hard as he can."

However, Raymond May, a representative from Impact where Redmond is in residential treatment, told Judge Tynan that Redmond's lack of participation was because, "He did a massive amount of drugs for years and that stunted his emotional growth, and he is just coming out of that."

Redmond addressed the court and said he has been "sober for 9 months. I have been holding back. I have been adjusting and still dealing with the death of my mother."

Redmond's legal ace attorney Richard Pintal told RadarOnline.com, "The progress report was good. Redmond is doing well, but as Judge Tynan pointed out, he needs to step it up." Redmond O'Neal was visibly upset after the hearing but told RadarOnline.com exclusively, "I'm ok. I'm going to do better."

Pintal says that Redmond has been compliant in all phases of his recovery treatment at residential treatment center Impact, and that his progress report was positive.

Pintal goes on to say that his client is going through an "adjustment period" and that he is still "learning to participate". The loss of his late mother, Farrah Fawcett, is playing a significant role in Redmond's recovery as he is grieving and trying to come to terms with the loss of his beloved mom.

But the good news is that Redmond is "extremely grateful" to be in treatment at Impact and although it's a very trying time he is "committed to his recovery" and has "embraced his recovery".

Redmond O'Neal is no longer a jailbird!
A judge ruled Thursday that O'Neal be released from jail and sent to Impact Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in West Pasadena for one year's in patient residential treatment.

However, O'Neal's legal woes are far from over. He is due back in court September 30 to face charges stemming from a DUI and possession bust last January, and a parole violation when Sheriff's searched dad Ryan's house last September and found drugs.

Both are open cases but all charges could be dropped if O'Neal successfully completes one year's treatment at Impact.

Redmond O'Neal --the troubled son of actor Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett - will be released from jail and will be sent to rehab to continue his treatment for drug addiction, RadarOnline.com can report.
That announcement was made Friday morning after O'Neal,24, appeared in a courtroom in Santa Clarita, California and pleaded no contest to possession of a controlled substance.

O'Neal could have faced four years into state prison, but under a deal, he must complete one year in treatment at residential rehab at Impact in Pasadena, CA. He was also placed on three years probation, and if he violates probation, he goes to state prison for six years.

O'Neal won't be released to Impact until Commissioner Godfrey at the Airport Court signs off on him being transferred to Impact in Pasadena, CA. Redmond will be in front her Thursday, September 24. It's expected she will sign off on it.

Redmond O'Neal -- the troubled son of actor Ryan O'Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett -- should be released from jail and into a residential treatment program, according to a source close to O'Neal who spoke exclusively with RadarOnline.com.
The source said: "Redmond has achieved as much progress as possible at the inmate rehab program, and it's time for him to be released to a residential treatment program."

Ryan O’Neal has never visited his son in jail -- both before and after the death of Farrah Fawcett, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
Redmond O’Neal saw his father at Farrah’s funeral and when he was granted a several hour visit to his mother Farrah, shortly before she died. That visit was recorded by cameras for Farrah’s documentary. But Ryan has stayed away from visiting his son, who is deeply shaken by his mother’s death.

Ryan O'Neal won rave reviews in a Malibu courtroom on Friday. Judge Lawrence J. Mira praised the actor for following all the conditions the Court imposed when Ryan pled guilty to drug possession earlier this year.
Ryan and his son Redmond were arrested September 17 at their Malibu home. On January 9, O'Neal, 68, pled guilty to a single felony count of methamphetamine possession. As a condition for staying out of jail, he was ordered to pay a fine and enter into an 18-month-long drug diversion program. If he successfully completes it, the charge will be dismissed.
O'Neal, who lost his beloved Farrah Fawcett on June 25, has his next progress hearing on July 16, 2010.
Redmond, 24, who has a lengthy list of drug and probation violation offenses to his name, is currently in jail on a different felony drug possession charge.

Redmond O'Neal, wearing handcuffs and a standard-issue blue jail jumpsuit, was in a Los Angeles County Superior court Thursday morning; his first appearance outside of jail since his mother Farrah Fawcett's June 30 funeral.
O'Neal's lawyers and the prosecutor met briefly in Judge Sharon Miller's chambers prior to entering the court room. In a hearing that lasted only five minutes, Remond's lawyer requested a continuance on his felony drug possession case, which was granted.
A pre-preliminary hearing was set for August 21. Redmond will remain in lock-up until then.

The back cover is a shot of the back of Farrah as she peeps through a tall wooden door. "At That Hour," a poem by James Joyce is on the inside of the cover and the Order of Service listed Redmond O'Neal doing the first reading from the Bible, Lamentations 3:17-26 and Ryan O'Neal doing the second reading from Wisdom 3:1-9. "To Where You Are," a song written by Richard Marx and Linda Thomspon was played as well as "The Prayer," written by Carole Bayer Sager and David Foster.
The Reverend Alexander Salazar read the Prayer of Commendation at the end of the service.

Sources close to Redmond O'Neal reveal exclusively to RadarOnline.com that Commissioner Jane Godfrey has signed a removal order allowing Redmond to attend the funeral of his mother Farrah Fawcett.
Redmond will be allowed to wear a suit and not his jail issued attire. The source adds Redmond is devastated by the death of his mother and is committed to his sobriety to honor her because he promised he would stay clean for her.
The date of the funeral has not been determined.
Thursday afternoon, Redmond's attorney William Flattery informed Commissioner Godfrey of Redmond's condition. Redmond- who has been serving a jail sentence for violating his probation related to drug charges- was not required to attend today's hearing.
Godfrey said Redmond was doing well in the program and his next progress report will be on July 9.
