Kanye West wasn’t just doing his good deed for the day when he performed community service for International aid agency, The Red Cross -he was also working toward getting assault charges against him dismissed.

The controversial rapper, along with his manager, Don Crowley, had been charged with vandalism, battery and grand theft following an altercation with two paparazzos at LAX on September 11th 2008. It is claimed that West and Crowley smashed the photographers’ camera equipment.

A judge agreed to dismiss the charges if West and Crowley each performed 50-hours of community service and attended anger management classes.

Kanye’s lawyer, Blair Burke, along with Crowley’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley presented evidence at an Los Angeles court  Friday that their clients had fulfilled their duties by working for The Red Cross, causing the charges to be dismissed.

We are pretty sure though that the controversy surrounding Kanye isn’t going anywhere though. Rumors are flying that Kanye is slated for a top secret joint stage appearance with country cutie Taylor Swift during Sunday’s Grammy Awards. Grammy’s head honcho, Jack Sussman, called into Ryan Seacrest’s popular morning drive time KIIS FM show Friday to dish about the upcoming show and hinted at a possible duo between the two. “Taylor’s going to do a little medley, she’s been rehearsing for the past few days,” he said, going on to promise, “You’ll see somebody coming on stage with her that will be historic.”

Kanye and Swift were infamously linked together in the pop history world after Kanye stormed the stage at 2009’s VMA Awards while Swift was accepting an award for Best Female Video. Kanye cut the teen singer off, mid speech, grabbing the mic and protesting in support of Beyoncé. "I'm sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time," he proclaimed as B looked on from the crowd, stunned.

Kanye was slammed from all sides for his stunt, maybe he’s being given a chance to finally redeem himself.

DNP Random Things

The world is rallying in an effort to send much needed aid, including medical supplies, clothing and food to the earthquake ravaged Caribbean nation of Haiti.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Hollywood is also doing it’s part, with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie stepping up and pledging their support just hours after the news hit of the 7.0 magnitude quake on Tuesday 12th January. Former Fugees band member and fellow Haitian, Wyclef Jean, has been working tirelessly in his devastated homeland through his charity The Yele Haiti Foundation, and Hollywood heart throb George Clooney is using his high profile celebrity to organize a star studded world wide global concert and telethon, Hope For Haiti, which will be broadcast on Friday.

Not to be outdone by the glitz and glamour, the older, more established charities are also rallying, with one of the most respected and well known of them all, The Red Cross, taking the lead.

On Saturday The Red Cross Santa Monica branch will be holding a fundraising event, Youth Run For Haiti. Joining forces with hunky actor Josh Duhamel, The Red Cross of Santa Monica is hosting a 2-mile “youth run” on Santa Monica Beach in California, requesting a $10 donation from participants, with all proceeds going towards the relief effort in Haiti.

After seeing the images of devastation and despair in Haiti, big hearted Duhamel was passionate about getting involved in raising funds. Realizing that traveling to the country in person was nearly impossible, as well as maybe ineffective, Duhamel contacted his friend and personal trainer, Don Brooks of Don-A-Matrix Training, to discuss what they could do to physically make a difference.

“Aligned with his advocacy in adolescent diabetes and his passion around youth, Josh has called on all youth and teens to help-"A Life Can Be Saved, One Run at a Time!" Young people around the globe have expressed their heartfelt requests to help in some way. They want to show their deepest compassion for the people of Haiti by helping in any way they can. These youth feel just as Josh does about making a difference.”
