Seeing him in Paris for the French premiere of his new movie, Public Enemies, RadarOnline.com is asking the question: Why do we love Johnny Depp so much?
Is it the tattoos? His manly jewelry? Those sunglasses? His stache? Or maybe it just always comes back to the hair. No matter how long, unkempt or just plain dirty, Depp's do is a powerful thing!

Public Enemies Is A Snooze

It’s not a good sign when the guy in the row in front of you is dead asleep throughout the entire movie. But the boredom that is Public Enemies is not star Johnny Depp’s fault. He’s as charismatic and as handsome as ever playing 30s era gangster/bank robber John Dillinger.
One problem is the uninspiring supporting cast, which includes the increasingly grating Christian Bale as FBI agent Melvin Purvis and Billy Crudup, who is totally miscast as J. Edgar Hoover and adopts a weird James-Cagney like cadence while everyone else talks normally. All the other characters, lots of guys in fedoras, look so much alike, you have no idea who’s who.
And you kind of don’t care. The script, directed by Michael Mann, fudges history and has little depth. Besides a written statement at the beginning, which explains that John Dillinger started robbing banks during the Great Depression, we really have no idea what motivated him to turn to a life of crime or how he became so powerful and violent.

Bohemian Depp - who was in the Windy City for the premiere of Michael Mann’s gangster flick Public Enemies – visited Gibsons after the red carpet event last Thursday and stayed until 2:30am a restauraunt spokesperson confirmed.
Depp and his entourage spent around $4,400 on food and drink and were served by veteran waiter Mohammed A Sekhani at the famous hot-spot.
Sekhani has been blessed before with huge tips from the likes of 24 star Keifer Sutherland and the legendary Frank Sinatra – but he rates The Pirates Of The Caribbean star as the best of all.
Sekhani told the Chicago Tribune newspaper: “Depp hosted a party for 15 people including Michael Mann and co-star Marion Cotillard and the tip was split 12 ways.
“Depp is the finest of all the stars that I have ever waited on and he is a true icon, and his ability to respect others is phenomenal. He loves Chicago and Chicago loves him – Johnny Depp is one cool dude.”
In Public Enemies, Johnny Depp plays the part of Depression-era bank robber John Dillinger who is tracked by FBI agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) – Oscar winner Cotillard plays the gangster’s girlfriend Billie Frechette. The film was partially shot in Chicago last summer.
Dillinger’s charm and daring jailbreaks made him a favorite with the public despite being on the FBI’s ‘most wanted list’.
Public Enemies premieres Tuesday at Los Angeles Film Festival. It opens July 1.
