Disfigured Model Lauren Scruggs Bravely Reveals Amputated Limb

Instead of shying away from her injuries,  Lauren Scruggs has bravely showed off her amputated arm for the first time since a small plane propeller cut off her left hand four months ago.

Dressed in a green and black running outfit with a huge smile on her face, the 23-year-old fashion blogger/model was spotted shopping with her parents at a Plano, Texas, sports store this week, where she seemed unfazed by her missing limb and even used it to hang her small white purse from.

Lauren Scruggs is heading to court over her horrific accident and is suing the insurance company of the plane she had been in prior to walking into the still-moving propeller in December.

Lauren lost her left eye and left hand in the accident and suffered “cranial damage,” and the lawsuit describes her as “severely and catastrophically injured.”

After bravely enduring surgeries and physical therapy after losing her left hand and eye in a tragic plane propeller accident, Lauren Scruggs is on the mend, staying positive and getting used to the "new norm," her mother says.

"For the most part, it's been a positive week for Lauren. The sun has been shining! We have had some great talks! There's been lots of laughter, amongst the tears. She is regaining her strength," Lauren's mother, Cheryl Scruggs, wrote on their Caring Bridge website on Tuesday.

The frantic 9-1-1 call that was made immediately after Lauren Scruggs walked into the propeller of a plane has been released, and the intense pain the model was suffering from can be clearly heard as people frantically rushed to get her help.

RadarOnline.com has decided not to air the graphic and horrific recording where Scruggs, 23, can be heard wailing in agony throughout the entire tape.

The call was made on December 3, 2011 immediately after Scruggs walked into the propeller and a person on the phone tells the operator that six people are helping her.

After being horrifically injured by a plane propeller, model and fashion blogger Lauren Scruggs has finally seen her disfigured face and bravely said she doesn't think it's "that bad."

"She looked at herself for the first time today in a mirror," said Lauren's father, Jeff Scruggs on Thursday, reported ABCNews.com.

"That was big. She looked and said, 'It's not that bad.' So that was really encouraging."

Currently recovering from several surgeries in the ICU at the Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, Lauren Scruggs managed to say both her name and, "I love you" to her distraught parents, ABCNews.com reported.

Having already lost her hand, Lauren also suffered extensive injuries to her face, brain, and shoulder and her family are now praying that she will not lose the sight in her left eye.

Two days after she was horrifically slashed by the propeller of a small plane, model and fashion blogger Lauren Scruggs is becoming aware of her graphic injuries, RadarOnline.com has learned.

The 23-year-old from Plano, Texas, is currently recovering in the ICU after undergoing surgery to amputate her left hand. "As Lauren begins to wake up, she is learning the extent of her injuries," revealed CaringBridge.org, the web blog set up in her honor.
