JetBlue Pilot Taken From Hospital To Texas Court In Handcuffs

The JetBlue pilot who terrified passengers with his mid-air meltdown left the hospital in handcuffs on Monday morning to make his first appearance in an Amarillo, Texas courtroom.

During his arraignment, Clayton Osbon was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal at the Randall County Jail, reported CBSNews.com, and no bond was set. He had previously been receiving medical evaluation at the Northwest Texas Healthcare System.

The model and fashion blogger who was severely disfigured when she walked into a small plane propeller has reached a settlement with an insurance company after initially rejecting a $200,000 compensation offer.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Lauren Scruggs was suing Aggressive Insurance Services, the insurer of the plane and pilot, Curt Richmond, involved in her horrific December 2011 accident, and had asked a court to define whether she was considered a “passenger’’ under the terms set forth by the insurance company.

Even in the most dire circumstances pilots are trained to keep their cool, but it was an unsuspecting passenger who had to take control when a JetBlue captain went beserk in the middle of a flight on Tuesday.

The pilot "exhibited erratic behavior," according to a TSA statement, when he began ranting about bombs “Iraq, al-Qaeda, and terrorism,” and struck fear into the hearts of the 135 passengers on board.

Lauren Scruggs Suing Over Horrifying Plane Accident

Lauren Scruggs is heading to court over her horrific accident and is suing the insurance company of the plane she had been in prior to walking into the still-moving propeller in December.

Lauren lost her left eye and left hand in the accident and suffered “cranial damage,” and the lawsuit describes her as “severely and catastrophically injured.”

After bravely enduring surgeries and physical therapy after losing her left hand and eye in a tragic plane propeller accident, Lauren Scruggs is on the mend, staying positive and getting used to the "new norm," her mother says.

"For the most part, it's been a positive week for Lauren. The sun has been shining! We have had some great talks! There's been lots of laughter, amongst the tears. She is regaining her strength," Lauren's mother, Cheryl Scruggs, wrote on their Caring Bridge website on Tuesday.

Lauren Scruggs Horrific 911 Call Released

The frantic 9-1-1 call that was made immediately after Lauren Scruggs walked into the propeller of a plane has been released, and the intense pain the model was suffering from can be clearly heard as people frantically rushed to get her help.

RadarOnline.com has decided not to air the graphic and horrific recording where Scruggs, 23, can be heard wailing in agony throughout the entire tape.

The call was made on December 3, 2011 immediately after Scruggs walked into the propeller and a person on the phone tells the operator that six people are helping her.
