Soap Actor Nick Santino Commits Suicide, Regretted Putting Down Beloved Dog In Condo Dispute

Soap actor Nick Santino committed suicide after being overcome with guilt for putting down his healthy beloved pit bull, Rocco.

The Brooklyn born performer had become embroiled in a doggy dispute with his neighbors at his upper West Side condo, according to The New York Post.

Santino apparently felt under pressure to get rid of his pooch after the policy in the building changed disallowing any new pit bulls to live there.

Although as a current resident Santino was legally allowed to keep Rocco in the building, he was allegedly harassed by neighbors for months who wanted the dog gone from the building and made life difficult for him.

So last Tuesday, on Santino’s 47th birthday, he had his best friend euthanized.

But the struggling actor, who has had parts in All My Children and Guiding Light, immediately regretted his decision and his grief was too much, leading him to take his own life.

Santino’s body was found on Wednesday after overdosing on pills. He had made a final call to an ex-girlfriend at 2 am before killing himself.

“Today I betrayed my best friend and put down my best friend,” Santino wrote in a suicide note according to his friend Stuart Sarnoff.

“Rocco trusted me and I failed him. He didn’t deserve this.”

Santino adopted Rocco from a shelter several years ago and had posted on his Facebook that he “did not rescue Rocco, Rocco rescued me.”

A muscled tough guy with a face tattoo broke down into terrified tears during a stand-off with a cute adorable puppy, and RadarOnline.com has video of the blubbering giant.

The bizarre footage is part of an episode of the Animal Planet series My Extreme Animal Phobia, which features Marvin Cruz being taken to a dog park by his therapist to overcome his debilitating fear of pit bulls - even the bouncing baby ones - stemming from a childhood trauma.

"It's now time for Marvin's exposure and I am really worried about the next level for him," said Dr. Zasio, who forced the 47-year-old biker to face his fears in the dog park in Romeoville, Illinois.

After a horrifying attack by a vicious pit bull a brave little 7-year-old girl is about to have her 57th surgery to reconstruct her face after the dog mauled her in 2006.

Amaya Hess was in a stroller while her mom Bobbie Tomlin was taking her for a walk when a neighbor's pit bull grabbed her and chomped on her ear, eye, nose and ripped off her scalp.

After the attack Amaya spent three months in a coma, but now she's bounced back and is like all other little kids.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, James has been Tweeting about his loss, as well as offering a $2,000 reward, in addition, he joined forces with the premier dog hunting agency FindToto who have dispatched 4,000 alerts around James’ neighborhood.

Now James is taking to the web - the tattooed bike shop owner and star of death defying TV stunt show, Jesse James Is A Dead Man, posted an ad on Craig’s List on Thursday, asking for the swift return of his dog.

The ad describes Cinnabun as “Pit bull, 9 Month old, medium size, brown with white on her chest. Last seen wearing a pink collar. Cropped ears and full tail. Last seen near Cisco burger on Anaheim street in Long Beach”. Then in caps it says “PLEASE HELP US FIND HER!”

As RadarOnline.com previously reported Sandra Bullock’s hubby, Jesse James, is on the hunt for his beloved lost dog Cinnabun.

Jesse James Offers Reward For Lost Dog

James posted a reward for any information regarding her whereabouts on Thursday via his Twitter account, offering up the princely sum of $2,000.

Now, leaving no stone unturned in the quest to find his adorable pup, James is bringing in the big guns, enlisting the help of the premier dog finding service, FindToto.com.

RadarOnline.com spoke with FindToto’s spokesperson Colleen on Thursday who said that although Cinnabun has yet to be found and returned to the heart broken James, there is some good news in that there have been multiple reported sightings of the fawn colored Pit Bull.

And FindToto are doing all they can to spread the word about the hunt, with a determined attitude to re-unite dog and owner in the near future.

“We’ve just sent out 4,000 new alerts and it sounds like she’s alive and on the run,” Colleen tells RadarOnline.com. “She’s only 9 months old so I’m sure she’s probably really confused. But we’ve been getting a lot of people saying they’ve seen the dog around their neighborhood.”

Hopefully, Cinnabun will find her way back to James soon, and is indeed alive and well albeit on the run. Heartbreakingly, a worried James Tweeted on Thursday that someone had reported a sighting from the night before of a “young kid” trying to sell a fawn colored Pit Bull on a rope in East Long Beach.
