The 64-year-old is engaged to a young woman called Shannon who is 40 years younger than him.

America’s Got Talent – but soon, it won’t have Piers Morgan.

Morgan, 46, announced Wednesday on Piers Morgan Tonight that he was leaving the popular NBC talent show to focus on his CNN talk show.

In a reference to Eddie Murphy pulling out as the host of the Oscars, Morgan began his announcement by saying, “Well, members of the Academy, I’m available…”

The British journalist went onto say that he’s “loved every second” of working on America’s Got Talent, but that he found, to his surprise, that juggling both shows had proven to be more difficult than he had imagined.  He said he decided  o focus on what “will be a huge year” at CNN with the upcoming election year.

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane tells Piers Morgan Wednesday that TV personality Jon Stewart placed "an angry call" to him over a joke on his animated show, that knocked Stewart for working through the 2008 writer's strike, and RadarOnline.com has the video clip.

"It is incumbent upon people in a certain position to stand up for the people who haven't made it yet," MacFarlane, who was admittedly "measured" with his words, explained as his rationale behind the dig at Stewart.

"I do think he was wrong not to shut his show down," the 37-year-old animator said. "I disagree with his actions there, but... the gag we did on Family Guy was coming from the right place, but so over-the-line in its ruthlessness, it could have been measured better in his execution."

Christine O'Donnell, flustered with Piers Morgan's repeated questions regarding her views on same-sex marriages, walked off his set mid-interview, making for an awkward exchange that's got viral video written all over it.

O'Donnell, via satellite, appeared on the CNN show Wednesday night to promote her new book Troublemaker: Let's Do What It Takes to Make America Great Again, which details her views on a number of political topics, including same-sex marriage.

The sticking point was that the controversial Delaware Republican wanted to keep the conversation restricted to her time with CNN, which didn't fly with Morgan.

The Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson said the late Princess Diana "would have been the best of friends" with her son's new bride, the former Kate Middleton.

Appearing on Piers Morgan Tonight Thursday, Fergie said the princess would have felt "total pride" in watching the historical wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge this past April 29.

“It was an amazing day!” Morgan said.

America's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan and his wife Celia Walden are expecting their first child.
