The woman accused of cutting off her estranged husband's penis and throwing it in the garbage disposal appeared in court on Monday after being indicted on felony counts of torture and aggravated mayhem.

Catherine Kieu, of Garden Grove, California, went before an Orange County judge who continued the arraignment and delayed going to trial until February, reported KABC-TV.

The 48-year-old will remain in custody on a $1 million bond until she appears before Superior Court Judge Craig Robison on February 2.

A Kentucky man who sued a surgeon for amputating his penis without permission during a routine operation has lost his battle in court, RadarOnline.com has learned.

A jury in Shelby County, Kentucky, unanimously agreed on Wednesday that Dr. John Patterson exercised appropriate care when he removed a portion of Phillip Seaton's penis in October 2007 during a routine circumcision operation to treat inflammation, reported ABCNews.com.

The verdict appears to be influenced by the fact that Seaton, a truck driver who can not read or write, signed a consent form for a routine circumcision.

Instead of a cheated wife or jilted girlfriend, it was an esteemed surgeon who chopped off Phillip Seaton's penis and now the castrated man is seeking revenge in court.

Dr. John Patterson is being sued for removing Seaton's penis without his permission during a routine operation in October 2007, and the trial got underway in Shelby, Kentucky, on Monday, reported ABCNews.com.

Seaton, a truck driver who can't read or write, and his wife Deborah are seeking damages for "loss of service, love and affection," against the surgeon after the victim went in for a routine circumcision and came out a eunuch.

UPDATE: The Orange County District Attorney's Office Tells RadarOnline.com:

"Catherine Kieu, 48, Garden Grove, is charged with one felony count of torture, one felony count of aggravated mayhem, and sentencing enhancements for great bodily injury and personal use of a knife. If convicted on all counts, she faces a maximum sentence of life in state prison with the possibility of parole. The defendant is being held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned today."

Catherine Becker, the Garden Grove resident that chopped off her estranged husband's penis, was extremely upset that he had filed for divorce, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Garden Grove police Lt. Jeff Nightengale told us: "The victim told our detectives that she (Catherine Becker) is very upset about the divorce. The victim is doing surprisingly good given what he has been through."
