Shooting Rampage At Religious School Leaves At Least Two Dead

A suspected gunman has been detained in northern California after opening fire on a religious school in a shooting rampage that has killed as many as five people and left several more severely injured.

The shooter opened fire at Oikos University, a Christian school in Oakland, Calif. shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Monday, reported KGO-TV.

Police described the suspect as a heavy-set 5’9” Asian male in his mid 40s, he was taken into custody near the Southshore Shopping Center in eastern Alameda after fleeing from the scene and sparking a man hunt of the local area.

The coroner confirmed that at least two people are dead and AP sources say the death toll could be as high as five.

The stations played nothing but music today. No one at his Oakland, Calif., headquarters picked up the phones. And the network website wasn't loading up on most search engines.

The 89-year-old Camping had been giving daily sermons about the end of days in recent weeks, claiming that the apocalypse would begin in Asia and make its way around the globe throughout the day.

Family Radio staff put up over 2,000 billboards nationwide warning of the end of days.
